Subject: Problem with 3DS file

Hello All,

I am having a problem with a free sailboat model that I downloaded from Turosquid in 3DS format. When I try to import this model into Poser, it comes in with half of the hull mirrored and rotated 180 degrees. As I have zero 3D modelling experience, I was wondering if there is a way to fix this somehow and if so how would a complete beginner do this?

If it is not fixable, or if it is too complicated a procedure for someone with no modelling experience, does anyone know of a site that has free or relatively inexpensive 3D sailboat/sailing yacht models? I have looked at a number of sites on the web, but those that do have any models are generally very expensive or have very low resolution.

Thanks for any replies.

You can search Mystic Nights' database for all kinds of things.

http://mystic-nights.com/directory/index.php

Try entering search words like:
boat
sail
ship

You should be able to find something there.

Site Admin Online Now!

a program like Deep Exploration would allow you to fix the boat, or it might be easier to just get another model.

Acadia, wheatpenny and jugoth,

Thank you for your responses. I will check out the sites and the programs that you have recommended and hopefully I will find a solution.
