The Photography Gallery and Forum are some of the most active sections of Renderosity. Bruce, Danny and I do our best, but we do have lives outside of Renderosity and other jobs as well. In the past, members have been approached and asked whether or not they would like to become a Coordinator. Due to recent staff member departures, it was decided to make an open call for volunteers. Yes, it is a volunteer position, not a paid one, though there are some perks. To apply, you'll need to have been a member for at least six months. The basic duties of a coordinator are to patrol the gallery and to assist fellow members as needed. Gallery patrol consist of identifying potential Terms of Service issues, reporting them, and learning how to deal with them. Assisting fellow members consists of answering questions in the forum and those sent to you by Site Mail. No, you don't have to be a photography expert, just helpful. Always treat others with respect, as you would want to be treated. Where we need the most help is in the Photography Gallery. With the number of photos being uploaded each day, it can hard to keep up. As a coordinator, you will be exposed to nudity, images with explicit situations, strong language and the occasional upset member. There is a training process that prepares you to handle the different situations. But this is all that would be expected of you other than to handle yourself and interactions with other members in a professional manner. Further duties can be discussed at a later date (like help with Last Week in the Gallery), but initially this is what we would like our coordinators to assist us with. For the time being, Moderator Bobby (bobbystahr) will be helping out in the Photography areas. (Thanks Bobby!) If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, just let us know. We work as a team here and there is always staff available to help. Thank you.

You're most welcome Kort.. ...

Once in a while I look around,
I see a sound
and try to write it down
Sometimes they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound

Thanks Kort...

I know this may sound like a lot..The most important thing is what we call "gallery patrol"
This mean when your here on Renderosity, and viewing the galleries..You would learn to identify potential Terms of Service issues..Basic stuff like nudity in thumbnails.

As far as assisiting members. We have one of the best and most helpful forums here at Renderosity.. when your name is listed as a staff member, folks will contact you. Sometimes you can assist them, sometimes you will need help. There are questions at times that Moderators must get assistance from the administration. So, my point is, don't get too humg up on that.

Kort also mention other things like LWITG...Things like that are secondary. If a coord feels they want to particiapte in that project each week..that's great.. It's something one could "grow" into.

Now, a person would be needed can speak several languages like French, Spanish and others... a bilingual or trilingual person. Personally, I see very well Olivier in this.

olivier158 ( ) posted Fri, 31 August 2007 at 4:22 AM

lol thanks val, but i'm limited to french and english (little bit italian and spanish, but very little)... ok ancient egyptian too but there's no pharao anymore lollllllllllllllll

translation is no problem....you just run it through Google Translater and there it is in english...thats how i decifer some of my comments now

Valerie-Ducom ( ) posted Fri, 31 August 2007 at 6:39 AM · edited Fri, 31 August 2007 at 6:42 AM

Alhak @ : I don't think so.. Some words or sentences cannot be correctly translated. The goodle translater or Im translater is good for to make a basic texte but not in technical support. In spanish and portugues (very similar language) some sentences be able to be translated absolutely different from the foundation wanted, or even wrong interpret, for example...
But yes, for to make commentaries, the google is good.

Olivier @: well, portugues, Italian or spanish, you know where I'm and the team of photography too, I help always for that...

I just wanted to let you all know that I have asked to be a volunteer co-ordinator.  Since most of my free time is spent on here I would like to lend to hand and help out.
cheers Sue

I just got a message from the deep, dark recesses of Peru. Rich (inshaala) would be interested as well...he returns Oct. 2.

Sounds like you've already attracted a few good volunteers.  Great idea to post this Kort. You can never get too much help, I'm sure.  :^)
