Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 23 1:20 pm)
Luke, Laura, Matt and Maddie, get little support because they can't be used in the types of images most people here seem to favor (i.e. sexy pinups)
PoserWorld has the best support i've seen for them.

There is actually quite a lot of clothing for those 2 figures.
Daz3D has loads of clothing for them
Poser Fashion has some dresses for Laura, but any of the other Mil Girl clothing can be used just scale to fit.
Canary3D has some too.
Finally, if you invest in something like Wardrobe Wizard, by PhilC and Kamilche, you can use any of the clothing in your library for them.
Here is a post I made on Wardrobe Wizard, which explains what it is and what it does and how it works. Personally I can't see myself ever using Poser without Wardrobe Wizard ever again. I use it absolutely everytime I am inside Poser, and I am no longer restricted to what clothing I can use on my figures because Wardrobe Wizard supports all of the figures that I have, they can all share each others' wardrobes.

Actually -- there was a thread over at DAZ back when Luke & Laura were about to hit the market. The thread requested names for the new male & female young teen figures from the community.
Someone suggested Luke & Laura -- specifically derived from whatever soap opera it was that those names came from. I don't recall who got the credit for making that suggestion. Not sure what reward they received for the suggestion, either. It would be an interesting bit of Poser historical trivia, if anyone cares to take the time to look it up. Perhaps search for the original thread.
Heh......perhaps we should offer a reward for whoever finds the original naming thread for Luke & Laura. Something like a free downloadable copy of DAZ Studio......................
Here ya go.

Quite a bit of stuff in there, actually.
Here is the thread (yes, I enjoy looking up those stories)

But I could not find the one who picked the names as they where mentioned more than once...
I'm not always right, but my mistakes are more interesting!
And I am not strange, I am Limited Edition!

Thanks guys! I did find a few things over at PoserPros... Daz doesn't seem to have much of what types of clothing I'm looking for, though. It's all fantasy for the most part, and the one item is like 18.95 or such... way more than I'm willing to spend at the moment, though it'sin the wishlist. LOL
I'll check some of those other links. Thanks a lot!!
Acadia -- that's a $60 dollar investment if I remember correctly.... money saver in the long run but I'm limited to about 10-12 bucks a pop at the moment until we can make up what just got spent on wisdom teeth extraction. Thanks, though! I did bookmark it when I can afford to drop that much on a single item. -_-; LOL

There is a reasonable (depends on your frame of mind what reasonable means) amout Laura clothes. Luke less. As pointed out in the links above. However what they or any other character other then V3-V4-A3 lack is shoes. I know PhilC has his shoe converter. But Laura in a teen dress or shorts and a nice top in 4 inch plus spiked heels converted from V3 or V4...huh??????? Laura could use several pairs of flats and or minimal heel height first pair of pumps. Even if she went to an 8th grade dance with Luke as her date, would she wear the same heels as Vicki???????

Yeah, i've noticed that. But there's a serious lack of even basic t-shirts and jeans for the Luke figure as well. I'm not talking the grunge, skater type of backwards baseball caps and jeans falling down off the kid's hips. If you want to make a clean-cut well-behaved young teenaged Luke, good LUCK! LMAO
Laura has more available to her, unfortunately the image I'm trying to do is with Luke, and I think I'm going to just wipe him out completely, go buy the plugin for the UTC converter and take the Gen3 tex i'm using on him and convert it to the Gen2 M3 PT Boy instead. -_- LOL
PhilC's Wardrobe Wizard is nice, and a nice option for getting clothes on the largely unsupported figures, but it's just WAY overpriced in my opinion... sixty dollars USD is just plain nuts. -_- And I can't justify spending it when I just blew almost a thousand on teeth extraction. :p

Over priced?! How can you say that?
Depending on where you buy your products you will pay between $1.99 and $25.00 for a single outfit for a figure. Let's use $10.00 as an average price for one outfit for a figure.
6 outfits x $10.00 = $60.00
Great, so you now have 6 outfits for Victoria 3.0
Stephanie Petite is naked
Aiko is naked
Laura is naked
Victoria 2 is naked
So is David, Michael and Hiro and Apollo.
On the other hand you spend $60.00 on Wardrobe Wizard and those same 6 outfits suddenly increase to 54!
9 figures x 6 outfits = 54 outfits
Now sure you probably won't want to use that short black mini on Apollo, but I am simply showing you an example of Wardrobe Wizard actually saves you money. Instead of having to go out and buy another 6 outfits for SP3, and another 6 for Aiko and another 6 for Laura and another 6 for Maddie, you can use all of your clothing on all of your figures because they can share wardrobes.
Buy one outfit and use it for all of your figures.
Some outfits have 1 available for V3, SP3 and Aiko. If you want to use it on any of those figures you have to buy each outfit. With WW you buy one.
Wardrobe Wizard is a bargain because it saves you hoards of money.

Attached Link: CrossDresser thread at DAZ
You could get CrossDresser 2 instead. The basic programm is free and you only have to buy the licenses for the figure(s) you want to convert the clothing to.
Right now the "old" PT-Boy and PT-Girls licenses are free so you can try the program out.
(So you could actually convert clothes for Luke for free if you use the "Luke 3 PT" legacy figure instead of standard Luke-3)
But even if you want to convert to standard Luke-3, you'd only have to buy the Luke license to be able to convert clothes from any of the other supported figures to him.
(Converting FROM a figure is always free)
According to the attached DAZ thread CrossDresser does a far better job converting high quality clothes with lots of detail than WardrobeWizard.
And it can convert gloves and shoes, too.

Hello Acadia,
I apologize if my post came off too harshly - that wasn't my intent.
What I was getting at is the amount of cash spent at one time is all. $10 once a month I can spend on cg related items. $60 in one chunk though and that's a bit much on my finances is all - not to mention invokes my other half's ire. I didn't get the daz dragon 2 until it was on sale for half off. I didn't run right out to get the Mil3 figures when they came out. I STILL don't have the morph packs for the young teens yet. I also don't have any of the other figures out there, ie Miki, Terai Yuki, etc. I work strictly with the Daz figures. I have the Awful Soul outfits, but I tend to not get them until they've been out already for a couple of months - they come out of things like birthday money and stuff that isn't already spoken for. LOL
Anyway - it wasn't a dig at Phil's programme, and I do recognize the END RUN savings on it. Honestly, I do. I just can't spend that amount of cash on one item at one time is all. The cross dresser option over at Daz just works better for my current budget is all - and does solve the problem as far as clothing the YT's. :)
And thanks for the rest of the links and stuff posted, too. It helps a lot. I appreciate it!

There is, sadly, quite a dearth of decent clothes for the Teens. Everyone else has already posted the links I know of, lol, so that's all I'll say about it. Other than I'll keep wishing for some more clothes for 'em. ;)

Not harsh: just took me by surprise, LOL
I can certainly relate to budgets!
How is your mouth feeling now after the wisdom teeth extraction? I had my 2 top ones pulled back in 1998, a week apart from each other. Both done in the dentist's office. I was very fortunate to not have had any pain or swelling or complications. Unfortunately that isn't always the case with wisdom teeth especially if they are impacted.

Acadia,
I wound up going with Cross Dresser for now. Works just fine for Luke anyway, which is the only one I really NEED the liscence for at the moment. LOL Laura's a lot easier to find stuff for than Luke, so I'm just gonna settle with the XD and Luke's liscence and convert some of my M3 stuff I've got for him instead. ^_^
Wisdom teeth? Eugh. I'm 28. My mouth is physically the size of a five year old's. My two uppers are what I had yanked - both were bad. Empacted, infected, half missing, and exposed nerves due to being SO far back in my head that you couldn't fit a tooth brush in to keep them brushed. Dentist couldnt' even get a good look at them with the mouth mirror, that's how far back they were. LOL They were also coming in with the upper right facing the cheek and the upper left facing the back of my head. :p A mess.
Two on bottom will have to go also, but those aren't bad, they're in perfect condition - they're just growing right into the joint of the jaw and causing my lower jawbone to get knocked out of alignment. So I'll have to have them out eventually or I'll wind up needing reconstructive work done on the bone instead! LOL
Quote - [SO far back in my head that you couldn't fit a tooth brush in to keep them brushed.
My top ones were totally through but they were so far back that they were affecting my jaw and bite. I also had to use one of those really small child size tooth brushes to brush back there and even then it was difficult because my jaw bone got in the way. I sure don't miss spending 10 minutes just trying to get those 2 teeth brushed.
Hope you feel better soon :)

Does anyone even MAKE clothing for these figures? I've been all over the Daz site, and all over every MP I can think of looking...
I found a few scant (VERY scant) things for them at Daz, but frankly I'm absolutely appalled at the base, overall lack of support for them. I can't even find a basic clothing pack like you had with the Gen2 ps/pt's. -_- All I'm finding is fantasy stuff or stupidly expensive things like the Generation SciFi for the Luke and Laura figures. :/
Am I missing somewhere that people support the young teens? I'm not looking for skin textures, just some basic clothes.. jeans, sneakers, boots, t-shirts, etc...
