Subject: Breaking skeleton apart

Is there a way to break the skeleton into it's component parts?

I need to do some animation with just some of the bones.
Ive got Poser 7, as well as the M3/D3 Skeletons. (fully articulated spine)

cheers

Use the Group Editor. You can do them all at once in the Setup Room as shown here..

For just one or two parts individually, they can be done in the Pose Room selecting each body part, and in the Group Editor choose "Create Prop"

Thanks for that - I'll give it a play later on.

If you got my Bonez skeleton expansion, id did come with some additions parts, culled from the bones.

It included lots of additional morphs, the skull itself broken out with all the original and new morphs, separate thigh bones, and a skull n crossbones set, and you can reposition the "crossbones".

Even better, you can apply all the mat poses as well for the various texture sets as well to all parts.

It's been one of my best selling items over the years.

You can also break the skeleton apart in UVMapper Pro.

Ummm...where do we get this model Gareee? It sounds interesting. Jen

Depending on how detailed you need the bones to be...

Andi3d's store at renderosity is on sale 30% off, and he has the bone construction kit , if you go to his site,  everything's on sale for $5.00.

Bonez is a morph set/prop/scaling expansion for daz's skeletons over at Daz.

I even managed to pretty much morph the skeleton into a servicable gorilla skeleton morph!

Scaling the hand, skull and feet up also gives you more of a "toony" skeleton look, and the skull has tons of morphs built into it with Bonez.

Thanks for all the replies.
I only need standard human parts, so the daz skeleton is fine for now.
Dismembering it by using the group function worked fine - I'll be playing around with this for a while.

I had fun playing around with the skeleton, seeing what I could do. There a "cup" morph as well, hollowing out the top, so you can parent the skull to a candelabra and make a skull cup from it. I think I've seen that morph used more then most of them.

There's also a "one eyed willie" morph, and Homage to Goonies as well.

My biggest use is to make scarier looking skellies, and scaling th ehands or feet up or down to fake forced perspective imagine.. this original promo image (unused) showed that off a little I think...
