Subject: Help with corel draw files

Marque ( ) posted Tue, 04 September 2007 at 10:27 PM · edited Mon, 13 January 2025 at 12:07 PM

I put this in the photoshop forum but someone here might be able to help. Guy did my husband's work in corel draw and we need to get it into photoshop. I have corel draw but really don't want to install it. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Marque

You should be able to import the file into Photoshop, I have both Corel Draw and Photoshop and they both work well together.

I'm lost, I have CS2 and CS3 and don't see anywhere to import them. Maybe I need more coffee.

No, no, no - Photoshop can't read CorelDraw-File (CDR).
You must export from Coreldraw in JPG, TIF, PNG or BMP - with this Files you can work in Photoshop/CS2.

I think it's Photopaint (well, I'm still using version 8, so what do I know?..;) Yeah, File Import and Export are in Corel Draw, and you can change the aspect ratio, pixels, etc, either on the way in or out.

If my version wasn't so old, I'd say send it along, but to be honest, probably export from Corel Draw as a bmp (less lossy than jpg), then import into Photoshop (which I've never really used, since I can't afford it...I have the Gimp, which can do the same things, but is free...and is neither here nor there..;)

I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit
