No tricks really, with my automatic camera. LOL! No post work except for a little sharpening, either.

This is the same place at the same time of day, shots taken within seconds from each other  - just at a slightly different angle against the sun...

Another one... here you can clearly see how illuminated objects seem to radiate light themselves (especially that one leaf that radiates light onto the wall behind it...)

Wow, there are some beautiful works in here. This my my 1st photo to participate in the challenge. The morning light fabricated this alteration of light and shadow.

And last and least my 3rd. This one I have published some time ago in another community. I prefer the title "Shadows on the wall", because I like the song of Mike Oldfield.

Some light, some shadow, some birds, and a sundog glistening over a thunderhead. Anyone think it is gallery worthy? BTW, lovely images everyone. Light and Shadow are defining elements of most good photographs and the examples here truly show that.

Great pictures folks, here is my 2nd shot. My window. The afternoon sun creates this effects on a curtain and a blind combined with a sun.

I call this "Seven O'Clock Sunshine". Sir David's Les Paul copy.. He plays it so sweet. He does not read music. Plays by ear. Just beautiful cords.. The house echos with them!! I keep asking him to play a tune I know :-))) He never does!! Always goes his own way.. Second entry to the challenge. Diane.

Some very creative shots (kudow to the artists). These are feathers from a young Cardinal. Shot taken outdoors, natural light and in partial shade with a piece of white paper for the background.

Ok, one more. Taken last year from a series I was experimenting with in natural light and b/w. With the wind in the trees and spotty cloud cover every shot was different but, all taken from the same place of the same flower. This was the best.

If your not living on the edge, your taking up too much room. ;-)

zollster ( ) posted Mon, 17 September 2007 at 10:40 AM

Last one from me. This shot was taken outdoors in natural light. This tiny celendine was growing in my rockery beneath a huge bush that overshadowed it. The sunshine hit its little face...and its world lit up!! Diane.

OK, I'm gonna give this a try.  This is a smooth, polished granite wall of my parking garage. Although it appears this shadow is about to make a corner of the building, that is an illusion created by the shadow. This is a flat wall. My office building next to the garage was blocking the sun on one end.

Gosh I hope I get this posted ok. I always have trouble getting the pictures resized correctly! LOL

Alrighty then... since I didn't mess that up, I'm feeling brave...so here I go again!

This one is just a flowerbed in the alleyway at work. I love the way the sun skims the tops of these plants during the lunch hour every day.

And last, and maybe least (you be the judge) is this nifty tree that doesn't exist. This is the shadow of one of the poplar trees that grows near the polished granite wall next to my office building. I sort of like the reflection of the windows of my building in the shadow and you can see the lines in the rock wall as well.
