Subject: Make Up Problems

I'm using Poser 7 with both SR packs installed. Whenever I try to load makeup onto a figure, like Victoria, all that shows up is a white face (like a mime) it's like Poser doesn't try to look for the textures. When I render, I have to manualy locate the texture, but it does show up, and I can apply any new make up in the preview, but then after a few changes, it goes back to the white face.
Any sugestions on how to fix this?

What product are you using and where did you install it (eg in the standard runtime or an external one)?

Victoria 3, but it seems to do this for other figures too. I've tried using 3-D celebrity Trixie make-up at first, but the problem seems to be with all of them

Everything's in my main runtime folder, though Poser is installed on a second hard drive, not my C: drive.

I had trixie installed and just tried her. I had no problem with thw makeup poses. Have you moved the texture folders at all?

What I find strange is that in your first post you state Poser didn't ask where the textures were when you applied them but did when you tried to render! (I understood correctly?)

I was going to suggest checking the settings for searching in the library (General preferences) but I'd have thought even then Poser would have prompted for the texture's location when you loaded it.

Nope texture folders have never been moved. And yes, you understood correctly. Thats' what I find bizaare, that it doesn't ask until I try to render.

I'll try lookuing at teh settings anyways. Thanx

Just a troubleshooting suggestion...

Are you applying the default map first, then the makeup texture?

Hmmm, not sure what you mean. I load Victoria, select the head, load the "pose", i.e. click on the thumbnail of the make up in the library.

Well I treid changing the library settings to do a deep search, and it actually seems to have worked. I managed to load several m-u textures with no problem. However it did hang when I tried to load my last work. corupted file I guess

I've used some texture maps where there is a default map (sometimes separate (head & body), sometimes complete, sometimes both) and then mat poses for different makeup styles. On occasion, the individual makeup styles might only change the lips or the eyeshadow because it overlays the original head texture.
