Subject: M2 Zombie package

DarkEdge ( ) posted Thu, 14 June 2007 at 8:23 PM · edited Mon, 20 January 2025 at 12:30 AM

An associate of mine has purchased the Michael 2 zombie pack at the following link
http://www.contentparadise.com/us/user/zombye_for_daz3d_michael_2_product_926

He has Michael 3 and apparently has also downloaded a M2 to M3 package as well. I don't know how good this conversion package is and I don't know what kind of mapping the m2 and m3 models use.
So long story short, how can he get this to work???

Michael 2 and Michael 3 have different mapping.  You'd need the Universal Texture Converter utility (plus the Michael 2 and Michael 3 plugins) to convert the zombie pack's textures to Michael 3.

The poses may need some slight adjustment when applied to Michael 3, although they'd probably work better with the M3-to-M2 figure, which has the same proportions and joint setup as Michael 2. The facial expressions might not work properly at all, depending upon differences in morphs.

Actually, your associate would probably find it cheaper and easier simply to purchase Michael 2. DAZ is running a 50%-off sale right now, and M2 can be had for $10-15.

Don't overlook Reduced Res Michael 2. http://www.daz3d.com/i.x/shop/itemdetails/-/?item=880&cat=7 $9.98 right now. Takes all Mike 2 textures. Has most of the Morphs for Mike 2.0 included. and is better on your resources. Something importnant if your friend plans on add more than one Zobie to the scene.

I agree with Little_Dragon.  I converted that set from M2 to M3 very successfully with the Universal Texture Converter and the M3 plugin.  I think the M2 and V2 plugins are included in the software, but I don't remember.  I wish they would make a plugin for Apollo, but I heard it will never happen.

Any idea where to get some zombie poses? In particular I need a "brain-eating" pose.

Hi Guy!

Somehow your request for a "brain-eating" pose made me very happy, I cant stop giggling.
I have seen tons of horror movies as a kid and there are many ways to eat a brain (in the movies that is), can you supply a picture of the preferd "dining position"?

Glad to brighten your day. I don't have any particular picture, but I'm thinking of a zombie picking up a brain as if it was a hamburger.

Hi Guy!

Is it something like this you are after? (fresh from my memory of zombie films twenty years ago)
