Hello everybody. the server deleted my page again, without anyn warning... it took for me ages to upload the files there. I never felt so depressed in my life. Why this happens? Now it's going to take another 100 hours in front of the computer to upload the files... sorry... i am going to stay away for a while. hugs, julio

if it's a free server they may not like the bandwidth usage.

That's terrible news Julio, and you have my sympathy. Your's was one of my favourite sites for male textures and "vampires". It's possible, because a lot of people have been recommending your site that it's been hit hard. A lot of free hosting companies now delete sites out of hand that get above a certain bandwidth limit on a regular basis because, partly because of the bandwidth use and partly because so many of them are so paranoid about "warez" that anything pulling a particular level of bandwidth gets flagged. It's a shame but I don't see any end to this problem soon. Good luck re-uploading everything. I can appreciate the problem having had to do that twice myself last year, and I pay for my site. You had a lot of files on your site and I suspect that it's increased popularity has gone some way to contributing to it's demise. Stay with it though, people do appreciate what you've done and all the textures you've made available free! I know I do. :)

Oh so can I! I have to move my download pages from Critical Depths to another server. It's a pain in the behind, and I sympathize with you! Don't give up! You have some of the best male textures around and I hope you find a new home or rebuild you present one. (If you're willing to put black dots or bars over the nudity in the picture samples, you could try Crosswinds) Liz Pope Dreamspinner Inc.

http://www.webjump.com/ Anyone heard of this site or used it? I was thinking of uploading my site there when I get it together. It's free and they have no restrictions on bandwidth or content... And you can ftp to it, which is so much faster than some of these places that you have to upload one at a time.

I just signed up with Webjump after reading your post. I admit it looked good in the beginning, but after uploading my site I noticed a few annoying things about it. The speed is awful: a simple page with approximately 15 thumbnails (150x150 pixel HIGHLY compressed jpegs) takes minutes to load on my T1 connection. There are ads everywhere: most sites have either a pop-up ad or banners, webjump has BOTH persistent pop-up ads and a large explorer bar banner at the top of the page. After giving it a fair try I don't recommend webjump at all. I found a link that reviews free website hosts and rates their advantages/disadvantages. Check it out, I hope you find something useful: http://www.100best-free-web-space.com/Top10_space.htm

Sorry to hear that Julio, You have some wonderful, and much needed, male textures... so I hope that you find a new home. Carolly

Julio, I am also very very sorry to hear about the deletion of your website. As Carolly said just above, your artistry was both wonderful and much-needed. It was a virtual treasure trove for those of us looking for high quality male textures. The infuriating part, in my eyes, is that you were not given advance warning of the server's plans to remove your site. I begin to think that no one can survive on the net without restricting downloads in some manner -- by offering revolving content, for example. It is a shame, but this seems to be happening to more and more people now. Time to think of some good strategy :( Hugs, Kimberly
