Subject: preserving illustrator layers in photoshop cs3

Hi Guys

Does anyone know how to open an illustrator native file in photoshop (both cs3) at same time preserving layers?

I did some stuff in Illustrator and want to animate in photoshop but all options i have tried put all my artwork on one layer in photoshop.

Help !!!!

Works OK here (using Ill CS3 and PS CS2). You need to export as a .psd from Illustrator. When you do that, you get a dialog box in which you should make sure that 'Write layers' is checked.

If you save as an .ai file, then loading into PS seems to collapse the layers with no way to prevent it.
