It looks like the new version of Modo has some Zbrush style displacement brushes as well as the capability for basic animation. I, for one, am most excited by the idea of Zbrush style detail within the simple, streamlined Modo UI. The timing is perfect because I'm just about ready to texture my steed. I qualify for a free upgrade, but will wait a bit before taking on the 400+ meg download.

If you ordered the boxed version you should still have the download in your account at Luxology, nadwidth permitting (the app is 400 MB, the whole thing including content and videos is over 2GB).

from the demos, it appeared to me the animation may have been restricted to animating the camera, which is cool in itself. There may be more to it than that, however, and it was just not shown off well.

I regret, a little, not going for the special thru Daz, but it is just cool-app envy and saving-half envy, because at heart I really don't need the program.

Since my internet connection is 56k, this new trend of putting all tutorials on video is somewhat distressing. It's definitely the best way to teach an application though. I've completed the model of my steed and its equipment. Now all I need to do is make all the morphs, uv map the equipment, make the textures, match the equipment part names to the beast parts, export to Poser and rig. There's quite a lot to do, actually.
