Subject: Vue 6 Esprit or Vue 6 Infinite?

Darboshanski ( ) posted Thu, 13 September 2007 at 9:12 AM · edited Sat, 11 January 2025 at 1:33 AM

I guess I should maybe ask if my machine will run either of these programs first, I have an AMD 64X2 3800 (dual-core) with 4gig of system RAM, Evga GeForce 7300GT video card and winXP home. ( A year ago it was a big deal now it's old news...LOL!)

What is the big difference from Vue 6 Espirit and infinite? Just a short blip I am not into rendering huge packed scenes more less one or two characters in a very small area. It's almost I am more interested in the render capablities than anything else more less building a poser PZ3 and importing into Vue to render as I like the lighting capablities better than poser's as it seem poser lights tend to be too dark.

Thanks for your patients.

Hello,
 Here's my 2 cents worth.

If  you've got the bucks,  I'd go for the big gun if I were you. You will grow into it.

I have Vue6 Esprit with three modules and it is sufficient for what you want to do. But  take my word for it, you will want Infinite sooner or later. I have kicked myself in the buttocks for not getting it in the first place.

Later...

Try the personal learning edition (PLE) for Infinite/xStream editions for free.  See how it runs on you computer.  Then, study the comparison chart on e-on's site and see what function you can live without.  For example, painting with eco-systems is an Infinite only function.

And for Poser character, SkinVue is really a must, and it's Infinite only.

It depends what you want to do, and how much you have to spend.

I bought Esprit v5 initially, but as soon as I started trying out the Ecosystem technology in v5 Infinite, I knew it would open up possibilities I could not experience elsewhere.

I sidegraded, and I have never regretted it. v6 Infinite has a lot more power and flexibility - it has Ecosystem 2 technology, whereas the plugin for Esprit is Ecosystem 1. Ecosystem painting is a fantastic feature and is Infinite only as others have said.

I am slowly growing into it, and the extra options and flexibility and power have been money very well spent.

Can you give an example of the kind of images you might create? or maybe it's hard to say in advance.

Whoa, just downloaded the PLE of Vue 6 Infinite and I have to say I am a little intimidated...LOL!! More reading of the manual is needed but tomorrow no use getting into it at this late hour...hehehe.

The images I want to create are similar to my avatar, which is one of my creations, I don't seen me creating these vast ecosystems I want to do protraits and scene with a couple of people in a very small area. I am really interested in Vue's rendering ablilties more than anything else. I hope that clears up some questions.

Thank you all!

Before I upgraded, I was running Vue 6 Inf on a single core Sempron machine with 1.5 gigs of ram. . It was limited and slow, but it worked. You should have no problem if your scenes are modest.

One benefit of Vue (over Poser) is that you can decimate an object's poly count. Also don't be afraid to reduce texture sizes when you can get away with it. Just play with it! As you scale the learning curve, you will have many AHA! moments and will be amazed at what Vue can do for your Poser scenes.

A Big Difference as you know from the other thread is that Monday Vue6 Esprit will be $99 compared to $695 for Infinite and That's a Big Difference!!!!!!!

I would rather be Politically Incorrect,
Then have Politically Correct-Incorrectness!!!

Well as i own 6 esprite and have tried esprite 6, inf 6 and xtream 6 on on a mates, friends comp as he is potty with money and spends like mad, earns to much money and writes freebie modules to improve pc games.
6 Esprite is a cheap cut down version of Inf as i have tried some poser scenes on all 3 programs and Esprite crashes and burns to many times and they made it single core only.
If you want do scenes it was designed for with odd poser figre in then depending size will work nice, butttt the render time is like a snail, as they made 6 Esprite cheapy cheapy cheap cheap as possible.
To be honest its a waste  of money unles you can afford 6 Inf or Xstream.
