Subject: How do I make an object look like its glowing or on?

How do I make an object like a light look like its turned on? Like the light is actually coming from that object and its glowing.

Thanks

Simplest way is to set its Ambient Value to a nonzero number, as shown here for the porchlight.

If you want the light to actually illuminate other objects, you'll
need to add a Gather Node to those objects.... or simply
put a spotlight inside the lamp.

But the Ambient is what gives the 'glowing' effect on the lamp itself.

Ockham - What would the Gather nodes be looking for, the Ambient Value of the lamp?

Where would the Gather node go?

  1. point lite inside the object, ambient and alternate diffuse set to lite colour, "cast shadows" off for object (per ockham's method). 2. set ambient/alternate diffuse to lite colour, then activate GI (see poser7 python manual). 3. wait until poser 8, in case they are making this alot easier by means of a wacro and GUI.
