"no matter how many times they describe the clothing of the future, it always sounds like long underwear"- The Making of Star Trek
Depends on how far in the future you want to go. WH40k is about 38,000 years or so, there's a host of links at the Freepository at Daz. Check for Star Trek, Star Wars, etc., things, in Freestuff here, and the Marketplace, of course. RDNA has some good helmets, and other techno stuff in their freebies. Vanishing Point has some uniforms, armor, etc., etc.
Apollo Maximus has links to some futuristic stuff (an arm computer comes to mind), at the central site. Someone has a tag line with the link, just pop in some threads for Apollo here (do a search), and that'll have the link.

You can choose any hair prop in the marketplace. Every hair prop can be made to fit any character if you have even the most basic comprehension of Poser's controls. Put the word 'hair' into the marketplace search and have at it.

There's some good stuff at DAZ, in several styles. For what might be called "realistic" sci-fi, look at their various "Concord" sets. All to be paid for, of course. :( V3/M3 and the other unimesh figures have the bodysuit option: a set of spandex morphs matched to the material-zone boundaries, so that a texture can be applied direct to the figure. This is how the Concord outfits work. It can look a bit too much like something painted on. There are free P5+ shaders for various fabrics, including camouflage material. Check Mapps in Renderosity freestuff. Using Displacement in Poser 5+ could break up the skin-tight smoothness. Cellular node, perhaps, with some nopise and clouds mixed in.
SF Style armour doesn't come much better than SanctumArts Grim. There are a few things to bear in mind about it, though. First, it's relatively expensive compared to most Poser content. Second, it's rather polygon heavy. Third, the materials are not set up to work well in anything other than Poser 4 but that can be changed manually and with the help of a couple of Python scripts by nruddock.
There are some very cool looking SF armour outfits at www.xurge3d.com too. I don't have these but they certainly look the business.

Search for Uzilite at DAZ

There are a lot of futuristic outfits at DAZ, but the store doesn't have themes. You could try searching for "science" or "scifi" to pick up those keywords if they're in descriptions, but it won't provide everything.
RDNA's store has a science fiction theme and some of the best future outfits (but not much armor).

The Rendo Marketplace also has a science fiction theme under Poser and I'll let you look that one up.
There are a lot of different future looks, often based on past styles. Clothing trends rarely match what was envisioned in the past. The science fiction outfits, from pulp magazines and movies, didn't match what the turn of the millennium provided. 1950s scifi thought there would be mostly body hugging shiny outfits at the turn of the millennium. Instead, we have urban grunge baggy clothing. Today, science fiction mostly sees a used, decaying look for the future. New textures on clothing items can give them a future look.
Hair styles are somewhat timeless because there is only so much that can be done to hair without making it a high maintenance item and something that won't be kept for long. There are some high maintenance hair styles that belong to certain periods of history. Somebody could pull a medieval peasant woman and a western cowboy out of time and their hair would not be out of place today.
If you have specific looks in mind, based on movies, people could help you zero in on what you're looking for. Otherwise, browse the stores and you might find something you want.

Thanks for the all the help! This is more than enough informaiton for me to work with. In fact, Damn you all! Now I have too many choices!
Gagnonrich - I was thinking more like the armor in Final Fantasy - Spirits Within, rather than the more unisuit clothing ala Star Trek. But, my questions have been answered so I know where to go.
Sam - Xurge3d is exactly the type of armor I was looking for. Thanks for the link.
Thanks again!

Loads of free hair at this site. Some Star Trek ones too. Hair can be used across figures. Just use the XYZ Trans and Scale dials to fit the hair and then go to "Object" and "change parent' and pick the figure's head.

The Poser Poorhouse has a ton of links to free hair...ponytails, buns, braids, short, medium, long, anime & manga, weird, facial, and more!
"You don't know what we can see

Netherworks has an awesome and very very good hair conversion kit for Apollo. I think it makes many styles actually look better than the figure's they are made for.

I would recommend Xurge3D. He has several different armor trypes all very affordable.

I am looking for hair and science-fiction style armor/clothing for Apollo Maximus, Michael 3, and Victoria 4.
Any suggestions for items that others have found to be good quality would be helpful.
Thanks
