Subject: V4 save problem in P6

Systole ( ) posted Sat, 15 September 2007 at 3:17 AM · edited Thu, 14 November 2024 at 5:06 PM

Hi,
Has anyone encounter this problem?
I can't save any scene with V4 in it. The save seems ok then when I try to open it, Poser ask me if I want to 'save, cancel or quit without saving' as if I want to close the file.
If I choose 'cancel' My poser space appears ok except for the missing view window.

Thanks for your help.

Stéphane

Turn off "Use external binary morph targets" in the preferences before trying to save.

For any scenes you've saved, you'll need to delete the associated PMD file to be able to load the scene.
You will lose the morphs from the scene, but a least you recover everything else.

I've recovered my pics but the morph channels seem totally down (Maybe it's normal?). The values are still correct but not the morph and no change are possible.
If I've correctly understood you by turning off the external bin morph targets Poser doesn't create a pmd file so no morph can be saved?

This is the unfortunate side effect of the PMD file not being usable.
Now you can load your scene, you can save poses and material collections which can be used when you replace the figure.

The morphs are saved in the PZ3 instead.
Poser will still read PMD files (provided they weren't written when saving a scene containing a problem item).

For P6, not using PMD files is the only answer.
For P7, make sure you have applied the latest SR (provided your V4.1 download is also recent).

New problem with V4.1 -> http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=58253

The orignal issue was cured by an SR for P7.
I believe, based on posts in DAZ's forums, that the V4.1 issue has been corrected in current downloads.

Thanks for all this!
