Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 14 12:36 pm)
Probably not. The meaning of Layers is different here ... In photoshop,
the layers are transparent or opaque overlays of 2-dimensional pixels.
In Poser, these animation layers are separate sets of motions, which can
be applied to the same figure. You could (in theory) put walking in one
layer and constant shivering in another, then have the figure shiver
more and more as he walks into the snow.
The concept of 'overlaying' is similar, but only in a metaphorical way.

you can isolate figures and such by hiding everything and rendering one element at a time but then you have to play with reconstructing shadows and such. or using the alpha for that element, to isolate it in a master image. there is a new tool for Studio though which is designed to create masks of all your surfaces specifically for the purpose of isolating parts in Photoshop. http://www.daz3d.com/i.x/shop/itemdetails/-/?item=5636&cat=5
yeah after playing with layers animation in poser 7 i see what you mean and how its the same but not the same. I pretty good with manulating layers like you said render them seprately and then adjusting them in photoshop. I was just hoping this could be away to save steps specially with the current images is a bit beyond my scope of peiceing together in photoshop.
I dont have a image to post at the moment but I will and look for suggestions at a later date , but basicly its a figured wraped in a thorn bush. This making lots of poke throughs and what not, not to mention I know when I render the elements sepeartly getting them to peice back together in Photoshop they way they looked when I render them all together will be a bit of challenge. But on the bright side its something new to learn and Well come back here when I get to a point im stuck.
Thanks for all your input gang

I been searching the net and this forum to see if this has been asked or done yet. But my question seems simple enough, I have yet to play with this feature in Poser 7, but Is it possible to set up your scene using layers and render that. Also is it possible to just render one layer at a time then take it into photoshop (which is my optimal goal with current project).
Has any one done this yet? Reason being Im working on an image thats going to be pretty complex cause figures are interwining with each other and was just wondering if it was possible to use the poser layers feature to make this process easier and save some steps when I take it in to photoshop.
Thanks
