Bit of a long shot this one but you never know.

I'm looking for a model of a burned out car - not futuristic or anything, the sort of thing you'd find in most run down areas of a city.

Anyone come across one before ?

Regards

Frank

Never seen one.  Have you tried experimenting with magnets to damage the body and custom textures for the paintwork?

No, I haven't either but I'm going to try it.  😄

A bit of ZBrush for the dents, and a rusty shader in the material room, and one dead car :) If you use Poser 7 you can use the morph brush intead of ZBrush.

You can get a load of cars from here,  http://dmi.chez-alice.fr/models1b.html

Frank, you could use the "total destruction" material from Vue for this, I know you render in Vue so take your car into Vue and change some of the material parts to that!

Injustice will be avenged.

i had done what sam suggests and it works very well, using mags to crush parts of the car, and flatten the tyres, i managed to make a bit of a junkyard (got a bit carried away there!!LOL) and i also made some rusty mats for 'em in vue,

the benefit of vue mats is that you can just keep mixing stuff together, so you can easily get burnt and paint and rust and raw steel all together.

I hadn't thought of using that material.  I'll give it a go when I get home.  I might be able to bring the car into Hexagon and wreck it or something like that (not that it'd be hard - I'm crap with hex)
