Is there any way of getting specular bloom within Vue ? or does it have to be done in post.
(ps - specular bloom is the name for the effect where you get a sort of glow round the highlights in a render)

I have a feeling I'm going to need to render the specular separately and do it in photoshop but I was hoping I could get away with not having to do that and do it directly in Vue

Regards

Frank

Maybe you could fake it by using point lights with lens flares in front of those highlights - if you don't need too many?

Frank,

It's called "Lens Glare" in Vue and you can apply it as an Advanced Camera Option.

Lens glare . . . I've never really looked at the advance camera settings so I'll have a dig around and see what I can come up with.

Thanks guys :)

Sorry, too early in the morning here - I meant "Lens Flare", in the Light and Shadow Editor.

Yep, lens glare is what you need.

Try rubbing some Vaseline on your lens - an old photographers trick.

(Actually the preferred method was to shoot through a piece of nylon stocking over the lens - not as messy)

And it's one I've used numerous times :)
