Subject: I can't download from the FreeStuff gallery

Ever since they changed the actual picture link to the download with a button, my download manager, GoZilla, can't grab them anymore. It is my default download manager that I use, but now IE takes over if I click the button. Using IE to download is slow, and unreliable at best; downloads can't be resumed after a failure.If I can't get around this then I don't think there's any point coming here anymore - I come here mainly for the downloads.Any ideas?

I know IE has problems with downloading if you have multiple windows open. I use IE 5.5 on a 56k dial-up and I do not have any problems. I have one IE window open at a time. Also, if I am downloading a file, I wait until it is done to go to any other page or start another download. I know it is slow but it is stable. Also, it looks like poserforum.com put in the buttons to prevent the mass-downloaders from consumming all the bandwidth. If you are not aware, poserworld went to a pay site because of people using mass-downloaders. It looks like you are not able to use mass-downloaders here. Just be patient when surfing the web.

GoZilla is one of the very reasons for the button. We will do everything we can to prevent mass downloading.

Terrific :( Looks like I'm stuck with IE, then. But if you encourage people to use this site, you shouldn't complain if it becomes a victim of its own success. I don't suppose there's a way of increasing bandwidth? I thought cyberspace was infinite, especially now with new technology allowing more bandwidth capacity. BTW: I think I have enough props, characters to start with anyway.

JoeBlack, I'm not complaining at all. I just fixed the problem. BTW, how much bandwidth do you think this site uses in one day? a gigabyte? Maybe two? Maybe ten? Try about 25 gigabytes a day, and growing very quickly. Bandwidth is expensive, and we have to do what we can to restrain its growth in order to keep this site free for all to use.

25 gigs a DAY? Okay, I understand, thanks. I'm no grouch, honest:) I'm certainly not complaining about the site - it's really helped me a lot since I got Poser, and has opened up the world of 3D art to me, big time! Here's hoping it remains a free site - not much is these days. JoeBlack
