Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 23 7:38 pm)
Doesn't matter if V4 is selected, before Poser 7 the default behavior of double-clicking a figure in the Library is to replace the selected (or only) figure in the scene. To avoid this, use the double checkmark at the bottom of the Figures library to ADD the figure to the scene instead of replace the existing/selected figure. Now V4 shouldn't 'disappear' (be replaced by) the new item.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
Isnt there a setting you can change to correct the double-click figure replace issue? i cant check right now (and i have 6 - but its rendering right now LOL), but i seem to recall the double-click thing only being an issue for a short while with me.
look under your program settings.....
good luck =D

Only for Poesr 6 and 7 is there an option to change the double-click behavior in the Library. In Poser 5 and earlier, the behavior is hard-coded to replace the selected/only figure.

Thank you for the link to your tut, TrekkieGrrrl! I've managed to learn some of that already, but the bit in the Material room will be a help as THAT room is the one that really scares me!
Using the double check mark worked (of course) and I thank you once again, kuroyume0161, for replying so quickly with the solution.
I found the tut I was looking for and have been trying it out. Haven't quite got it just yet, but I'm hangin' in there! My biggest problem is my old pc....I think it gets tired and cranky after a long bout with Poser....LOL!
And thanks for the well-wishes, melikia!

Disclaimer: I'm using the free version of Poser 5, and still relatively new to using Poser.
I have Vicky 4 in an external runtime for use in Poser. I've recently discovered the excitment of using dynamic clothing and have been learning that room for now.
I came across a thread/tut somewhere telling how to change conforming clothing to dynamic, and tthought I'd give it a go. I'm not an expert in the cloth room, but have learned enough to use it with reasonable results.
So, off I go to PoserLand to do some experimenting. I copied the files for some of the conforming clothing I had for V4 in DAZ Studio, to the external runtime. They appear in the content panes as they should and load when I click.
Unfortunately, when I load a conforming cloth to V4, SHE disappears! Only the dress/whatever remains in the window.
I'm flummoxed by this, as I'm sure Poser can handle more than one figure at a time....lol. And yes, before someone asks, I did have V4 selected and all.
Anyone have an idea what I may have done wrong, or might not have done that I should have?
