Subject: ShaderSpider and Poser 7 help, please

I upgraded to Poser 7, and have been reasonably happy with it.  Seems stable, has some nice new features, and most of my plugins work.  (Wardrobe Wizard, PoserPhysics, etc.)

The exception is ShaderSpider.  I can't get that to work for love or money.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling.  I tried uninstalling, re-downloading, and reinstalling.  The results are the same: nothing happens when I click on the Shader Spider buttons.  No error message, no nothing. 

It works fine in Poser 6.  Any else have this problem?  Is there a fix?

(I tried asking at the PoseWorks forum, but they're stumped.)

do you have the latest version of shader spider?

Yes, I re-downloaded ShaderSpider.  And I made sure I had the latest version of Poser 7, too. 

It's really odd.  The wacros that come with Poser 7 work fine.  But ShaderSpider doesn't work at all.

I've got it fixed, thanks to Caulbox.  As I suspected, it was more a Python thing than a ShaderSpider thing.  

I'd been deleting the entire Runtime/Python/Poseworks/ShaderSpider/ folder before reinstalling, but nothing else. 

I needed to delete  Runtime/Python/poserScripts/Wacros/UserDefined/ShaderSpider.py

I think the problem might be that the older version of ShaderSpider creates a file that's got a slightly different name than the new version: 

ShaderSpider .py (old)
ShaderSpider.py (new)

So reinstalling doesn't overwrite the old version.

Note to anyone having Poser Python issues: if you click on a button and nothing happens, not even an error message, check for bad path names.

I'm experiencing problems with ShaderSpider in Poser7

My SS version is 1.1 and my Poser is 7.0.0.63

can somebody give me a light? I get the error about some line missing:
"Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "C:Arquivos de programase frontierPoser 7RuntimePythonPoseWorksShaderSpiderSaveFireflyEffect.py", line 4, in ?
    import ss6Copy
ImportError: Bad magic number in RuntimePythonPoseWorksShaderSpiderDatass6Copy.pyc"

Please I need help, I want to use one of the wacros to help me with an issue...

I've seen this error before on the SpiderShader forum...

Don't know if it will help but check this thread out.

That error means the script is trying to use the P6 version, so double check that you 1) have the latest SS version, and 2) it's installed properly.

Also, your P7 is behind in updates.
