Subject: Jareth

Li-C. ( ) posted Wed, 03 October 2007 at 3:43 AM · edited Fri, 22 November 2024 at 10:38 PM

For the longest while I"ve been wanting to make a graphic of the character Jareth from the movie Labyrinth. Now I can do the morphs and if I look hard enough I'm sure I can find clothes close enough, but what has me stumped is that infernal poofy hair of his. Does anyone know where I could find some hair that closely resembles his?

I attached a photo for reference. Ergh, hope I did this right.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lisa

I've deleted the copyrighted image. Here's a link to a still from the film which shows the hair you want:

Try the elf-dance hair + fringe add-on pack here in the marketplace for the top bit - and maybe the Aery Soul hair for the stringy-looking bits?

What did you have in mind for his gigantic elf-collar?

Cheers

Oh!!!! 80's hair!  Love it! I used to sport that style way back when,  LOL

So far as hair for poser, don't look for just one hair. You can actually combine hair in Poser to sometimes create the effect you were going for.

Find some hair styles that when combined might work together. Leave one as a "hair figure", and save the others to your props folder as .pp2 files.  Then load them and parent the prop files to the head.

If you need a character morph for the man, I may be able to help, provided you're using M2.

Li-C,

Are you also recreating the Labrynth (maze) part? If so, let me know what products (free or not) you use, I'd love to have a good maze type of prop.

If you play around with the volume and length, you can get that style with Hot Luca Hair.

YEEK! I'm sorry, I didn't realize it was copyrighted >.<'

Thanks guys! This is so much help.

Actually, Seadog, a long time ago I ahd made a maze in Terragen, but I think I got rid of the terrian file.  I could probably make you one now, though, if you'd like?

I actually did one of the images from the Labyrinth maze about 4 years ago...where the heck did I put it? hope I still have it, it was a @#$% to model (Escher was worse...but that's Escher for you..;)

found it...sheesh..the things I didn't know back then. Needs a complete overhaul; bad polys, too many objects, a @#$ to UVMap, and needs 'poserizing' before it could be used. Here's what it looks like so far...

Oh wow, that looks great! You act like it's horrible but that's a lot better than what I could have done.

Here's what I did with Terragen...Forgive the bad postwork:

Ooo I like Li-C! What's Terragen?

FrankT ( ) posted Sat, 06 October 2007 at 4:04 PM · edited Sat, 06 October 2007 at 4:05 PM

Attached Link: Terragen Homepage

Terragen is a bit of software that allows you to spend a huge amount of time getting very nice landscapes :) I'll warn you now, if you think poser renders are slow, TG2 ones are glacial (70+ hrs is the norm) until they get around to optimising the render engine a bit

I have the older version of Terragen and love it. It's a very user friendly program.
