Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Oct 26 8:50 am)
I'd love to learn something new but currently lacking the time. And maybe motivation...Where's someone to kick my butt when i need it?
Are you the teacher or do you take a course? Any experience with that?

I am the instructor for the Vue class. I have also taken many classes at LVS (for Bryce, Poser, and PSP).
The time needed for that class is not much - read the lesson, do the assignment, post your picture to the site. Since there is no set time for the class other than the 6 week period, it's easy to squeeze into real life!

I just finished this class and highly recommend it. Peggy explains things very well and is ultra responsive to questions. I really learned a lot in this class - even on things I thought I knew how to do. I'll be taking her next class, when it's available. The format at LVSOnline is nice, as you can work at your own pace. Lessons are posted each Friday night for 6 weeks. You do the lesson and post your results - usually one Vue scene incorporating things from the lesson. Generally you post your results within that week, but you don't have to. In fact you don't have to post anything, if you don't want to, unless you want a certificate. The lessons are not like a tutorial, where you follow each step to duplicate what someone else has done. Instead you're given the basics on different parts of the program and you design and render your own scene. The lessons generally took me 1 to 2 hours to do and then as much time as I wanted to spend on my scenes. I've attached a link to my postings from the class to give you a rough idea of what we covered: NeliaAnother satisfied student, along with grouch(Nelia). The class is well worth the little time it takes to read through the lesson. Everyone that took the class and posted their projects were a blast. The progress of the work by the class as a whole is very cool to watch over the 6 week period.
Peggy is an awesome teacher and as a bonus, we were all posting links to Vue sites with tons of tasty freebies for the grabbing.
I highly recommend this class for anyone wanting to start "Vue-ing".

I took the first class, too. I've been using Vue since Vue Version 1, but hadn't kept up. I really, really recommend this, even to people who think they're familiar with Vue. Peggy does an excellent job of covering (in her own 183 page Manual) subjects that are not covered in the User Guide or in the Rick Shrand book. Plus, her course is thoughtfully created - she covers the "basics" - the things you really need to know to have a good foundation for Vue work. Five Stars! *****
