Subject: JCM and auto moving

I been reading up on this subject and wanted to check that what I am doing is correct and explain why. in the, for example, rForeArm targetGeom JCMElbowBendR { name JCMElbowBendR initValue 0 hidden 0 forceLimits 1 min 0 max 1 trackingScale 0.004 [+]keys interpStyleLocked 0 valueOpDeltaAdd Victoria4 rForeArm yrot deltaAddDelta 0.008000 indexes 49 numbDeltas 306 [+]deltas blendType 0 } This works - however, when saving the garment back from Poser to the library Poser 7.0.2.132 changes the Victoria4 to Figure 1 and the rForeArm to rForeArm:1 the JCMs no longer work automatically yet this appears to be what is supposed to work or is V4 different than others? I've only used V4 so far in this area A little confused to say the least ;) Please shed some light if you can, Thank you.

Saving the figure back to the pallet will add the figure number and actor number.

Are you trying to slave the cJCMElbowBendR channel to another channel in the conformer, or to a channel in a character that the the conformer is to be conformed to?

Hi Les, I guess that's "to a channel in a character that the conformer is to be conformed to" Trying to make it so that when V4 bends her elbow (shoulder/forearm) my dress's sleeve follows her bend otherwise V4 pokes her elbow through the sleeve. I thought that was what JCMs were supposed to do - but I am still learning Thank you

JCM in clothing doesn't need to be connected to the figure: since the clothing will follow the figure anyway, it's fine to connect the JCM to the clothing joint. I don't have an example handy, but I think that makes things easier.

actually the jcm in the clothing does have to be slaved to the base figure to work, as poser doesnt actually keep track of the clothing joint rotation when it is conformed, its considered slave to the base figure. unfortunately Indoda you have discovered one of the "Features" of poser where it rewrites the numbers whether you want them or not. the figure 1 part is fine but you need to delete the :1 after the node that the dial is in in this case your rForeArm, so you want to do that hand editing and then not resave the cr2 in poser.

Thank you @wdupre thanks a lot that clarifies the issue (hopefully) so correct it manually and do not save back to the Poser palette from within Poser :) Figure 1 remove :1 from all rForeArm etc.... I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel ;)
