Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 23 7:38 pm)
You cant export morps within a .obj file from poser so you have to export each morph separatedly or buy this :
**CR2 Loadder
http://www.greenbriarstudio.com/3D/cr2load.htm
**and if you want to retain UVs from .obj files u export from Lightwave go into the "Surface editor", select all the surfaces you want to retain UVs whn u export em into .obj and clik on the [T] button in "Color" section, once in that window in "Projection" slect "UV" and then click "Use texture" too go back, so each surface with its correct projection will retain UV when u export em to .obj.
When you say keep morphs once in lightwave, are you talking about a face and pose you created in poser? or do you want to be able to use the morphs once in lightwave?
the way I do it is to create a pose, face, and body that I like in Poser and then export as .obj into lightwave. You'll have to redo all the surfaces.. Wich in general you should anyway even with the cr2 loader.

Onnetz, I was trying to export a pose and a face with expressions applied to a head created from the Faceroom. I love the simplicity of the poser 7 software to create unique characters but wanted to export to Lightwave just because I'm more familiar with it and would be able to get my work done faster until I'm able to better understand Poser. Thanks for your info. Appriciate it.
Asciicodeplus, Yeah I've been reapplying maps the way you mentioned in the second have of your email. I just wanted the facial expressions on the model to export as well. The Greenbriarstudio.com sound like just what I'm looking for. Thanks a bunch!

Hi, I'm new to Poser and am using version 7 and trying to import into Lightwave 9. I'd like my poser exports to retain their morphs (Face and pose) along with their UVs but when I export as an OBJ the morphs are gone but the UVs are there and when I export as Lightwave the morphs are there but the UVs are gone. I know I can manually reapply the maps in Lightwave but if I don't have to that would save a lot of time and headache.
Am I missing something in the export process or is there some sort of work-around.
Thanks! Any help would be great.
