can someone give me a quick rundown on what and how to use reflection maps? I have tried to use it in the 'materials' room, but it doesn't seem to work. I would love some help.... please.

O.K... I had the hatchling dragon and a 'gold' texture. I thought that if I used a 'reflection map', that it would give a sort of gold reflection if I went into 'materials' and added where it says 'reflection colour'. All it did was put the 'tile' over the whole dragon. I was hoping for a simple way to reflect. I take things so literal at times.

I'm currently at work so I can't fiddle - do a search for posts by BagginsBill, he's the material room Guru, you may well find the answer to your question in one of his posts

I'd suggest going to RDNA to either the Node Cult  forum and ask bagginsbill.

Or search RDNA's free stuff for "Material" and try using one of their gold metal materials on the dragon.

If you search the poser free stuff here for  material*   you should find lots of materials including metal ones too.

I know how to add a reflection to a floor, but that's about it. I've never worked with actual "reflection maps".

Dont use the reflection map under reflection in the mat room. Instead use it under Highlight. and then use the highlight size to adjust how much you want it to show up.

Also mke sure the highlight color is white. Here's how it should look.
