Subject: Morphs not working

Stan57 ( ) posted Wed, 07 November 2007 at 2:14 PM · edited Wed, 25 December 2024 at 1:19 PM

Has anyone had this problem? I have Poser 7 and Carrara 6 pro, when i try and inject a morph to V4.1 it doesnt work. I have recently put in a brand new hard drive and clean install of Win XP Pro upgraded to SP2, all updates installed. The Poser7 & Carrara 6 Pro are up to date also and i ran the V4.1 updater.

Its strange that the morphs are not loading in both programs. BTW,i can load clothing and props.

Stan, which app are the morphs not working in?
And when you say "not working" can you be a bit more descriptive, exploding, wrong vertex order, etc?

Sorry i though i was pretty discriptive, The morphs do not work in Poser 7 nor Carrara 6 Pro,IE i go to pose section in poser 7 click in ,say "Roslyn for V4" double click on Body inject, the V4 model in the actor window the leg moves slighty but the body injection doesnt inject or change the body to the model Roslyn which i have choose.

In Carrara 6 Pro the same thing i load the V4 try and inject the body morph"injection" nothing happens

Could it be that you need to manually load all of the Daz V4 morphs first before the character morph can be used?

I have had that problem with custom morphs. My work around is to load just the morphs in Poser (no materials) . Save it as a scene and open it in Carrara and the morphs are there.

Yes, and its not just one model, all of the models the injections dont install.

Do you use external runtimes by chance?  If you do, put a copy of the !DAZ folder in the main Poser runtime and see if that helps.

I have external runtimes as i have made a Victoria4 folder,Sets and Props Folder and V4 Hair Folder and they are in the Poser 7 folder in Programs, i clicked the add runtime button. I did this before and had no problems.I dont have Daz Studio Installed at all,nor do i want to install it lol. I dont like it, there runtime system is too confusing for me and i was happy to buy Poser when i found out about it. its 1000% more user friendly :) but ok if your broke and cant afford Poser.

Whats really confusing is that the same problem is happening in Carrara, which is a total diffrent program

Do you have "Use External Binary Morph Targets" enabled by chance?  These do not work with V4.1 very well at all.  If you open the PZ3 or saved CR2 in a text editor, you will probably find your morph deltas with an amazing array of crap instead of real morphs.

You're using the V4.1 cr2, right? Not the V4 Base or the Dev figure?

Can you set any of the morphs manually? Is it just INJ poses which aren't working?

I just loaded V4.1 clicked on her chest and there wasnt any values, only twist, bend, side to side. All the others are empty. Choosing her body give just the basic tools, the ingjection channels are empty

If there are no morphs, then either you're not loading the right cr2 (figure). or you haven't installed the V4 morph packs, or it's a problem with using V4.1 in an external runtime (a known issue).

I would suggest as a first course reinstalling V4.1 and her morphs to your Poser 7 directory and see if that works.

The thing is, he's incurring these issues after updating his PC's system....

DarkEdge ( ) posted Wed, 07 November 2007 at 5:18 PM

I think it's the external runtime that bugging it up.

If it's not binary morphs, I fourth the notion that it's the external Runtime.  You have to be careful with this set up as - especially with updating your system.  I'd say a full reinstall of V4.1 is in order here - might be that changing drives changed some reference created for the morphs.

I want to thank everyone for there input and help, I moved all my files from my externel hard drives and moved them to the main drive C.I completely uninstalled poser 7 and removed all registry entrys and all my content. A fresh install of Poser 7 and fresh downloads of Victoria 4.1 and morphs and now it works. I havent a clue what the problem was,i must have screwed something up but dont know what, but its working now.

Thanks to all

Stan

I have something of the same problem but only with the Victoria 4.1 Creature Creator Morphs. I can inject other morphs for V4, remove them and load my self made obj morphs.
I inject the morphs, poser 7 wait some time and no morphs are added.

Then I installed the creature creator morphs it tried to run a bat file in the H:Poser 7RuntimeLibraries!DAZDzcreatePFiles-V4.bat
All the files in the product list file are present, except the bat file.

It look strange to me that I cant only add the files I want, I seldom want to use more than a few morphs on a figure.

I use poser 7.0 on win xp sp2 and Victoria 4.1

Magne, did you try re-downloading the .exe file for that product?
Have you contacted Daz customer support?
