After a 12 month + absence (yes, it IS possible !) from Poser, I decided to reinstall it and get back into it. First stop was Renderosity of course. Things seem to have moved on. There appear to be a lot of accessories for seperately purchased figures, and from dim memory there are a number of utilites which used to kick around this site, such as Mover, and er... I forget the rest. Is there a guide/page anything which I could use to tell myself what I need to gather up to make the most of this site. For example, is there a utility anywhere that allows me to store my figures, clothes etc somewhere other than the poser directory. I feel it will take me forever to hunt all this out from this site myself - it's so big now ! Thanks to anyone who can give me a couple of pointers. Alex

Yarp once again rewrote the 3doexplorer.. availiable in free stuff utilities.... highly reccomended...1.4.3 I believe tis now.. the usual suspects throughout the utilities.. Mr X's morphmanager, John Stalling's cr2editor, etc etc... if, when you go into freestuff, you click no Utilities. then what's new... you'll get a list of all the utilities currently availiable.. same with textures etc... A figure must be in a 'character' folder for Poser to use it - a prop in props, etc. But a texture and a geometry can be anywhere. If you have a character, prop that has a single use texture or geometry, you can put these files in the same folder with the CR2 or PP2,.. or a subfolder there. , then when you move the folder with the CR2 in it everything it needs comes and goes with it and you do not fill your textures folder with seldom used stuff. I have not found very many geometies to do this with - props mostly - but most of these are embedded in the PP2 anyway. You can put a figure or a group of related figures in their own folder, copy this folder to a CDR and delete the entry in Poser. then when you want it, just copy it back in. If the textures are in there with it, it never "knows" it went anywhere.
