Subject: Creating a reflection with perspective?

Imager ( ) posted Tue, 13 November 2007 at 12:51 AM · edited Sun, 22 September 2024 at 5:29 AM

I have an image of a car.  It is facing the camera about 3/4 view, part of the body receding into the background.  I would like to create a reflection, as if it's sitting on a shiny surface.  Copying and flipping the image doesn't work because when I move the image down so the front wheels match, there is space between the rear wheels of the original image and the rear wheels of the reflection image.  In reality, all the wheels would be touching.  Transform and rotate don't work because all the wheels move together and don't line up right.  Anyone know how to do this?  Thanks, Drew.

Here's what I do to make reflections. Select what you want to be reflected. Duplicate the layer and paste it. Hit free transform. Grab the top square and drag it down to reverse the image vertically. Use the perspective transform or distort transform to adjust it. Modify the opacity to the level you want. If it's on water, use the ripple filter to ripple it out.
