I had v3, but didn't yet have the morphs, lol. Being a newbie in poserdom is HARD!
Brandy
I had to look back on the Marketplace account list to find it...
something called "3dRelief", which must have been a program
to generate height-field meshes from pictures. I don't even
remember buying it, which means it probably didn't do what
I hoped it would do .... whatever that was!
That was exactly 7 years ago.

It sure is!

Apparently it's a program that turns your 2D images into 3D models

Hmm, mine would be clothes for V3/M3. M3 3 Piece Suit and second skins for V3. I usually don't buy for them, just freebies. I hardly work with them these days so I haven't invested much into them. I do this as a hobby. I dont have wads of cash to blow on 3D models so, I come here for the wonderful freebies. I haven't bought from here. I've bought from Daz & 2 prop items from CP. lol. I'm not a big spender. I'm cheap.
But, with that said, all my items were full price at the time I bought them almost 3 years ago!
Prob still full price lmao.
Funny thread... my first purchase was here (at least the one I found), 2003-07-02. I paid $17.95 for a texture set:

My first ever Poser Purchase (not bought for me by someone else) was Koshini. And Koshini 2. And I didn't realize there was an upgrade price, LOL, so I bought them both full-price, .And then, the next day, I bought an outfit for her :P
And, it's been snowballing ever since. I've actually spent $200 in one shopping "outing" in a day. Not in one spot, mind you, but close

Oh, that link is so out of date:)
3DRelief was superceded by Terrafirma 3D and that is also no longer available.
Both mine I have to admit:)
On Topic, I think my first purchase was Vicky 1.
3D Universe's Real Curls. Bought from DAZ 21 July 2002.
First figure I bought was Mike 2.
Coppula eam se non posit acceptera jocularum.
Quote - My first poser purchase was poser 2.
Well, it's a given that you have to have Poser to use Poser stuff :) And that Poser was probably everyone's actual first purchase in Poserdom. But what was your actual first purchase for Poser?

You know I couldn't just answer your thread without giving you a hard time first did ya? LOL!!
Actually I didn't make my first purchase of a poser anything until I got poser 4 and it was on 04/07/2001 and it was a posable cockroach for a picture I was doing using posette in a dirty alley.
@pdblake: I didn't mean to insult 3dRelief. Remembering vaguely now, it
did what it was supposed to do, but I didn't understand ... until I tried it ...
that 3dRelief wasn't the right tool to build models of cochleas, lungs and
palates. I would have to master full-fledged modeling, so I did.

I didn't think for a moment you had :)
Just hard to believe it was 7 years ago that I wrote that. I've learnt an awful lot since then (mostly not to use Visual Basic as a serious programming IDE) :)
Victoria 1, on 14th October 2001. (edited to add: my thinking at the time was: "I'll just buy this one thing, then I won't need to buy anything else." Ha! Ha! Ha!) Actually, I didn't buy Poser until much later. No, no, put away the pitchforks, villagers! I got Poser 3 off a magazine cover CD, and won Poser 4 in a competition. I only paid money when Poser 5 came out - wished I hadn't...
My first purchase for Poser was AnimeDoll from Studio Maya site....remember cause I had to get the hubby to do it with his paypal cause I didn't have anything set up yet....think that was 2004 (I haven't been doing this all that long)
Crazy alien chick FTW! (yeah....right....)
Realm of Savage - Poser
goodies and so much more!
~~
I got Poser 3 free off a magazine too - what's the betting it was the same one English Bob - in fact I still ahve that Cd on my cluttered desktop at home so if I feel like giving myself a real laugh I can always reinstall P3.
My first content purchase was Bliss Vision Hair and Radiant Pro Light System and I felt sure that this was all I would ever need to buy to go with the free download of V3 - oh how wrong I was grins
My first Poser purchase was Poser 2. Little did I understand at the time what I was getting myself into.
I went crazy at DAZ with my first Poser shop. I had just gotton Poser 5 after discovering DAZ and Rendo online and drooling over all the goodies for ages.

The next day I went back and got M3 and the Mil Cat.
Victoria 2 for $50 way way back. I didn't use it much for the longest time because the face looked so horrible with the Face Camera. Then I saw a tutorial to change camera settings and the fisheye lens went away and the model started looking good.
My visual indexes of Poser
content are at http://www.sharecg.com/pf/rgagnon
Poser6 was the very first (yeah i'm rather "young" here...), then the 'true' purchase was V3 and M3 morphs.
I remember it well, the first model I ever bought was the old Zygote Dragon, (long before DAZ split off) for $120, texture was extra. That was back in 1999, and I've been buying stuff ever since! I still remember how cool it was posing the dragon and Posette and then importing them into Bryce.

Poser (1)! I haven't had to buy a version since but it's cost me more than most. :)My first actual content purchase was "Parts and Props". I don't remember why but I had to pay for it. I think I got an employee discount though. In recent memory it was Grace Lion Hair.

I bought Poser 3 in a bundle with Bryce & RayDream but didn't really get with the program 'til an upgrade to Poser4. I guess this was around the time that DAZ branched off from Zygote - the site became more user friendly and the model prices came down (tho' looking back I'm amazed at what I was willing to pay on those early shopping trips - most of it still unused - eek!)
...but back to the topic ;)
I got Victoria 1 for Poser 3 but never used her, then Victoria 2 for Poser 4.
My first purchase here was a face morph pack for V2 - Deviouz Faces by IceStorm.
This was part of a huuuuuge week-long shopping expedition - and even under threat of torture I wouldn't tell anyone what I spent that first month after discovering Renderosity - it still makes me queasy to think about it ;)
Well let's see... my first content purchase for Poser had to be Nerd's Dreamspinner Line for Posette sometime in Oct or Nov of 2000. My first Poser purchase was Poser 2 followed by Poser 3. This was back in the days before there were any Poser stores.... conforming clothes.... transmapped hair or transparency of any kind...
Oh for the good ole days of helmet hair:)
Oh this thread is fun! My first purchase was the Victoria 1.0 CD for $73.92 and it came with Victoria, Victoria maps 1 & 2, Flip Hair and Victoria Clothing Pak. I remember wanting the Fearie so badly but just couldn't afford it after getting the cd and then there was the Zygote Dragon that was totally out of reach. They still sell that Faerie at Daz, for much less :)
Quote - Checked my shopping accounts:-
M3 from DAZ3D - yes, I PAID for the thing, bah
Grrrr.
I guess I've about cussed enough at it while using it, that I feel somewhat vindicated.
Don't feel bad; I still have Aiko 1, and I bought Stephanie 1 to get hold of that (riiight before they came out w/ the standalone version). Can't remember the last time I actually took that out and played around with it, and it used to be my favorite out of the pile. To top that off, I had to pay a 6% sales tax on all of my purchases from DAZ, up until this past February - I was a Utah resident. /P
My first 'Poser purchase' was before I had Poser. I had just discovered DAZ Studio then and had the free base models. Didn't like them all looking the same, so I got them something extra.
My first purchase:
Dazzling Gaze
Victoria 3.0 Piercing Pack
I still use those eyes sometimes. But since then, I have added so much more and expanded my shopping trips to so many other stores.
I bought just about every figure at Daz in one fell swoop, if I recall correctly. This was back when Poser 5 was current.

Like several others, I started with that magazine coverdisk CD containing Poser 3. And fiddled with various freebies from people such as PhilC, before buying Poser 5 in late 2003. It wasn't until a year later that I bought anything else; firat the DAZ Platinum Club membership and bundle, and then their Victoria 2 CD. It can't have been long after that that Aiko 3 came out.

My very first purchase for Poser was BeachBaby for V3. I remember posting in their forums asking how to use it, LOL I was told I needed V3, which of course I didn't have at the time. I thought all I needed was "Beach Baby", hehe
I paid $19.95 for it and it's now 1/2 that price.
