Subject: Custom Poser characters

If you have a ready made 3D model of a human or any other creature, which you want to pose and animate inside Poser, I can help.
I will turn your static 3D model into a full featured custom Poser character.

Also I can make a new original custom Poser figure from a sctrach based on your art.

Please, feel free to contact me by email :  directorbox@gmail.com

This sounds interesting - any chance you could post a couple of sample images of your custom work ?

Pinky - you left the lens cap of your mind on again.

Yep, you could catch much more people if you're able to show what you're talking about. It indeed sounds interesting but some samples could be good ^^

Thanks. I am going to show what it is like. I will rig a 3D mesh once made by famous  William "Proton" Vaughan. The model package is still available on http://modelsbank.3dm3.com/model304.htm

Among others in this archive there is so called "Comic Girl". I am going to make a Poser character out of this nice model. The finished product will be ready to download for everyone coming Friday.

It will be rigged into a full featured Poser character for you.  The head element would have nice expression morphs. You will certainly like it. It is going to be ready coming Saturday or earlier. So, till then, hopefully for your nice comments.

You probably ought to come right out and state whether this is free/for-fun, or if you're looking to be paid...

Cyreg - Thanks. I look forward to seeing this.

it's possible that he can't sell these rigged models (or give them away as freebies) if he's downloading them from some website, grouping them, then applying poser joint parameters to them. however, he can sell or give away models he's made from "sctrach", provided he doesn't use daz JPs.

Unicornst ( ) posted Tue, 13 November 2007 at 7:49 PM

**Are you "Proton"?

I'm only asking because I noticed this:

** Do not copy, modify, distribute or sell the whole or parts of the model above without permission of the creator.

Which means you either need to be this person or have the permission to rig the model for Poser, doesn't it? If the answer to either being "Proton" or having permission is a yes, then I'd be interested in seeing it as well. Especially the tall, skinny one with the "hat", long hair and a hip sarong thingy.

There is no problem whatsoever in obtaining completely royalty-free, cost free fresh mesh, right here:

I am going to rig one of the Proton models just for demonstration. Yes, I cannot modify this mesh either sell it. But the mesh is free. Proton is much a Poser guy. I believe he would like it. Please, feel free to come back here on Saturday. Then you can download this free but Poser rigged model.

operaguy ( ) posted Tue, 13 November 2007 at 8:17 PM

I wil be back for sure!

By the way everyone, MakeHuman is just about to release a new, major update. All new GUI, although I liked the prior one.

Collada export with rig!

If your app of choice has collada import......

I would like to see it. I'll come back to look at it.

"I believe he would like it" implies that you don't have his written permission to rig and distribute the model.  I think you'll probably need to obtain that before you give it away.

Miss Nancy ( ) posted Tue, 13 November 2007 at 10:37 PM

I believe he would like it as well, but for now it would be advisable just to post an animation IMVHO.

onnetz ( ) posted Wed, 14 November 2007 at 1:39 AM

do you not have any models already rigged that we could see?

@cyreg: Please make sure you have permission from Proton before posting any of their models here for download.

At OG: Ok, color me dumb, and behind the times,  but what is collada?

Also, didn't MakeHuman just come out with an update not too long ago? I know I downloaded something but can't remember what it was

Guh...I have too much stuff!

collada is a data export/import protocol for 3D. DazStudio has it...you can export a scene in Collada format and it (theorectically and actually in many cases) can be imported into 3DSMax, Etc. perhaps with assets like morph, texture, shaders? and rig?

Promised by eFrontier as a feature in PoserPro.

You should really talk to Poton just to be sure. He put those modles up on spinquad for learning perposes. I have a couple of my own up there on spinquad. I would not be to happy about someone Poserizing it then re-distributing it without my permission. Prptons a cool guy he will probably say yes but, you should inform him of your intent. To re-distribute it without him knowing might not be a good idea.

pakled ( ) posted Wed, 14 November 2007 at 1:12 PM

wayul...at this point, stealing from me would be a step forward...;) I dunno. I'd mainly like to see how it's done, and then I could pose my own...;)
