Looks great so far.

All the Woes of a World by Jonathan Icknield aka The Bryster
And in my final hours - I would cling rather to the tattooed hand of kindness - than the unblemished hand of hate...
this is looking really good,if you make the blue of your sky a little darker or perhaps put a hint of purple in it, the light rays world show up even better, also i would consider ading a bit more vegetation around the big palm, maybe some more fallen leaves or something, the big expanse of brown takes my eyes away a little, keep going, this is gonna be a winner!
Very nice jungly feel; the lighting is great and the dirty swampy water is really excellent. Composition is good too, it's got an air of expectation. I'd be inclined the put a palm-trunk up really near the camera on the right-hand side and wrap a snake round it (if you have Poser) to give an idea of the mysteries and dangers waiting for the guy when he paddles in (it would blot out that unwanted bit, too). However it's your image, not mine... ;-)
Finish it, it deserves it.
If that's supposed to be ocean water behind the guy, the trick will be to get the water to change color from that of the river part... Probably nothing that plop render and compositing with the first render in a 2D program can't handle.
Other than that, looks cool. I like it.

There might be something worth downloading.
I would fill the space on the right (that you intend to remove) with maybe another tree real close. Or you could put some other trees with different leave shapes/textures, then place the trunks under the ground (or cut them of using booleans) to give the impression of bushes etc. Also maybe put a radiant light just behind the camera, set it to intensity of 1 or 2 and no falloff, with maybe a real dark green colour (experiment here). This will illuminate the dark shadow areas just slightly and reveal some detail.
Excellent work so far!

Okay guys the case is this: I haven't ever asked wip-opinions but now I'm currently working on with something I really want to be as perfect as possible:) I have a feeling that this could be the One Image I have been trying to create all this time when using bryce:) Finally a piece of art that I'm totally satisfied of myself:) I don't know yet for sure but I feel very positive:) So... it's almost ready, this render is taken from 87% ready with no AA yet... still has been rendering it all night like some 15 hours:P Any suggestions how to improve it.. there's still time for some? The lighting causes me most trouble.. it's so heavy with those trees and so... hard to test how it would be best. There's one main light above all, and then one volume spotlight with light ray-gel to create those rays. I'm cutting the empty space from the right side off when it's rendered. Thanks for opinions:) -Antti
