Content Advisory! This message contains nudity

This time of year is our busiest at the company I work for, so haven't had much time for the computer what with all the overtime we're having to do. So tired when I get home, I fall asleep in front of the pc...LOL!

But I've managed to make another dynamic cloth....a sweater....and plan to make a skirt to go with it. Off and on the past couple of weeks, I've worked on it, put it thru the cloth room, and so far it looks pretty good. Practice makes perfect, they say, and I feel I've improved some from my earlier offerings in Free Stuff.

Then I got a bit sidetracked when bagginsbill posted his stocking shader and with that push and some help from Acadia (thanks once again for that, Acadia!), I've learned quite a bit about the Material room and it's no longer the dark and scary place it once was. Yay, me! :thumbupboth:

So with my new-found knowledge, I set about to use it to render my newest creation. I used a velvet shader I found somewhere here (for the life of me I cannot find it again, nor who offered it; seems it was from a thread here on the Free Stuff board), and of course, bb's stocking shader, I now present my humble sweater:

Just a couple poses...

Yes, that's bb's leg shader and I love the way it looks! I like the way the velvet looks too and wish I could remember where I got it! I tagged this for nudity, just to be on the safe side...

I used V4, Portia hair by AprilYSH from DAZ, Cassia texture and makeup by Spirityfoxy, also from DAZ and BL Mega Poses found here in the MP.

There was a couple small pokethrus, one on an elbow and one where her arm came so close to her body and looked like it squished it out! LOL. The only other postwork, besides composition was to get rid of the teeny tiny 'lights' draft renders put out.

Hope to start on the skirt soon.....just can't decide exactly how I want to make it. Straight? Or with a bit of flare to the hem.....? Maybe a fuller one? Decisions, decisions.....

Great job MX. I can see a Christmas texture for this sweather ad this character sitting around drinking eggnog. This sweater would look great in cream with some nice pants. I have a great collection of pants so that's how I'd do it.

Thanks, SSAfam1! I would have put some pants or skirt on her, but all I've got are dresses!

Yes, a cream color would look very nice. Hope to get time to work on the skirt this weekend and maybe more experimenting in the Material room. :)

I love the material room! When I first saw it, I was skurrred, but then you get to  playing with the  nodes and making different textures. Now it's so not scarey and a blast.

Here is what I see...this sweater with a broach on the top part of the shoulder. A  black leather skirt  that stops right above the knees with a split in the back. Some sheer black stockings with high heels and a hand bag. Sophistication!

ha made a diagram. Because of the way the sweater is built, I would put all three images on the left together. If the top was more like the image on the right, I'd go for a shorter skirt.

Quote - some help from Acadia (thanks once again for that, Acadia!),

You're welcome :)  Just paying it forward! :)  destro75 took the time to walk me through it.

I love the sweater. It has a soft plushy look to it. Something that a starlet would wear.  Very nice :)

I'm afraid it won't be any time soon, cedarwolf. I still have to make the skirt and now SSAfm1 has given me some ideas...LOL! I'd like to offer some MR presets too, if I can figure out how to do that.

I'll be posting more images later on probly, so you can see how things are progressing. If all goes well, maybe it won't be too long before I get it up for download.

And thanks, everyone, for the  compliments!
