Once in a while I look around,
I see a sound

it's a US holiday; colonists celebrated big feast with Indians (American Aboriginese), much eating, watching football (not soccer, but sort of Rugby gone wrong..;), dealing with family relations, etc.

On Mars it's more like "Thank Goodness Day. " I left all those idiots back on Earth. No politicians, no(C)rap music, no Happy Bob's car yard commercials. Just peace, quiet, and the ability to fry your brain out with solar radiation.

Hey! I know what Thanksgiving is. I just don't understandthe GPS etc quote...

Bryster, The GPS units that most people use in their autos nowadays talk to you, the intended pun is the old song verse......Over the River and through the woods.........To grandmothers house we go.

Thanks Quest, We made enough to feed an army and they're only here for the one day........which leaves me to Tryptophan the light fantastic.

bobby: Since I've changed occupation, the last years minutes have dwindled and forced us to downsize to pay-as-you-go phones. Only 30 mins a month or less.

My GPS is a pain. Every time I use it, it says things like "turn right. Turn right! I said turn right now!... *sigh, make a U-turn on the left. Turn left! Your other left!... "

My GPS says "Stop listening to your wife, she is holding the map upside down, ant its the one for Utah."

Good advice. We live in Australia.

I don't have a GPS; just two kids that say, "Daddy, why don't you just stop and ask directions?"

Pakled: There's a wonderfull story about the NASA Moon shots from a long while back.

Ya see, in the UK, being 'on the job' means 'to have sex'.

Well back when those guys were landing on the moon, as I recall, Joderal(ss) Bank, the UK tracking station, was helping out with communications -relays and all that technical type stuff. This was all open-mic stuff where everyone could hear everyone else so that if something went wrong everyone in the system would be able to pass on information etc etc.....

Well the Houston guys ("Huston we have a problem") asked the astronauts how they were feeling after a particularly tough day and couldn't understand why the Brits fell about laughing when the astronauts replied, "We're all pretty tired, we've been on the job all day..."
