How do you use external bump maps in Bryce 6 ? any tutorials?

As near as I can tell you just jack up the altitude in the materials editor, assuming you have already got an image map applied in the materials editor....I just tried it with the default Man image map and it seems to work.. ...

 

Once in a while I look around,
I see a sound
and try to write it down
Sometimes they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound

I'm sure there are tutorials, but I don't where to link you.

Top picture

  1. put a bead in one of the channels (A,B,C, or D)
  2. Click the P Button, "Image Texture"
  3. Click the "Texture Source Editor" button. Takes you to second picture.

Bottom Picture

  1. Click any empty tile.
  2. Load your bump map into the middle window. It doesn't have to be the same as the first window. You can put a texture in the first window, and the bump in the second window. Bryce will use whatever is in the second window for bump (or any slot from 'Diffusion' down).

Friends don't let friends use booleans.
