Here is my attempt, pretty much straight photo improvement with added cloning out of much of the background. I used curves and levels within a selection to give the black dog some face back. What a neat picture to start with. Where was this? TomDart.

Allmost too hot for my dogs. Good one! ;)
How did you make the fire?

Thanks. :) ..I was actually hoping to see some straight photo improvements too.
By seeing what other people would do to improve a picture, we can all learn allot from each other.
I especially liked the cloning. I wanted to cut out around the dogs, and drag down the whole horizon behind the little hill they sit on, to get the horizon down to the dogs level. ..but as you illustrated so well here. The river it self is a perfect horizon. ;)
It's from Pucallpa in Peru 2005.

**Some days ago I posted a "Postwork Challenge" in my Gallery...** (This thread is created so people have a place to discuss and present modifications).* * I was going to do some simple postwoork to the picture, and realized that it could be manipulated and edited in so many different ways. It's like the picture is crying for some creative people to play with it. ...Isn't it?
Do you find this picture to be an interesting "playground"?*
