Hiya All....
I just want to say how nice and cool it is to once again be in an active, alive forum...doing Free Stuff is fine and I get to read all the tutes I approve but my native app Imagine3D has been dead in the water so long I've basically had no community here to chat and play around with other than the Mod and Coord forums...not that they're boring, but this is about art here, not administration, and it's giving me new wings....thanx all.. ...

Once in a while I look around,
I see a sound
and try to write it down
Sometimes they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound
The Sun comes up again

So how about trying out a new Bryce render/Image?

Doesn't have to be a 'challenge' just something for fun.

Pass no temptation lightly by, for one never knows when it may pass again!

I can't speak for anyone else but I'm far from fabulous. Perhaps fantastic, incredable and/or lazy ... thanks though. As much as I miss Agent Smith I for one am glad you're here too.

I'm glad to see you here too Bobby. Used to read a lot of your posts in the Terragen Forum. Heck, I spent my first 2+ years there until the siren song of Bryce seduced me away.

OK maybe it was a mutual seduction since I always wanted to use Bryce. Now if I can only integrate Bryce with Terragen. ;)

Anyway I'm a noob here myself, but the Brycers are a friendly folk, (meaning this fellow who calls himself The Bryster hasn't threatened me with the comfy chair), so I think you'll feel right at home in this part of town.

Hehehe.... I just loved reading all of the friendly banter between the long time folks of the forum. Have a question, tho. What's up with the comfy chair? And why is everybody afraid of it?

By way of introduction, I am new to these parts. A noobie to this forum but not to Bryce. What is baptism by fire is a noobie supposed to undergo here?

Ouch! After reading and then cringing at "nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition," I just realized I haven't yet posted a SOW in this here forum. Should that be worthy of yet another sticky?

bikermouse ( ) posted Thu, 29 November 2007 at 9:14 PM

eh...sure why not .. er, what's a SOW ?

thunderstone:
You'll have to forgive Bryster he's a pretty good guy but he tends to overestimate things by 6 Monte Pythons and sometimes Two Benny Hills if he dips into the sacramentals, you understand.
Myself I'm ok but I underestimate things by three Groucho Marks and two Richard Dean Andersons if I get a couple quarts of pale in me.

I wouldn't buy furnature from either of us.

O. K. here's the scivy - first you go without eating for seven days. then and only then take a laptop up to the highest mountain you can find (you will need to bring lots of extra battery packs or a very  long extension chord) and render a sphere over water. there are details I cannot relate to you at this point as I have been drinking and the spirits consider it disrepectful to talk of such things in an altered state.
but this is called 'the vision quest'.

coming off the mountain you ponder the visions you had up on the mountain while looking at the render of the sphere you created in Bryce over water while there for another seven days - you still may not eat but you can drink as much Guiness as you want during this time - and no you can't drink and drive. As you may know other tribes have other rituals such as the Poser Tribe's NVIATWAS. I won't go into details as even mentioning what the initals NVIATWAS stand for as they are distainful to us and cause us much pain even to think aboot.
this is called 'interpreting the vision quest'.

now you are ready to tell others of your vision:
You make renders of your inmterpretation of your quest linking to them from the forum here and asking people what they think of your render. When everyone agrees that they are tired of giving you endless pointers then you will be a warrior in the Bryce tribe and if you haven't died of starvation can start eating again.
this part is called 'telling others of your vision'.

   or...

you could just start posting your renders(link to them when you can.). The SOW is sort of an inside joke (don't tell anyone though.)

cheers,
-TJ

Having done one render of the proverbial SOW on another site, guess I will have to produce or create another one for this gallery... Wondering if it's worth the trip to the mountain... Think you can lend me the plane fare to go to the Bahamas, so I can sit on the warm pink sand and work up this SOW render? :m_wink:
