Subject: To buy a item when it's release, or wait and buy a item when it's release. Now

I had been wanting to purchase Meshbox Design's ,Toon Santa since 2005.  I even contacted the vendor to see if it was or could be Mimic compatable.  I was told no.  So, I put off buying it.  In October 2006 a new Toon Santa was released.  I was mimic ready.  YES!!! But, here's the problem.  Because, I couldn't wait 10 days to get my hands on it.  I'm not qualified for the free upgrade to Toon Santa 2007.  WOW!!!

Oh well, it just makes me less eager to jump on a product when it's released. Because, basically a vendor can look at when the largest volume of their product was sold and decide to cutoff the free upgrade after that time span.

I understand your point.

But there has to be some kind of cut off period.  If they included you, who purchased 10 days ago, someone who purchased 11 days ago will feel slighted and want "in". Then if they include those people who purchased 11 days ago, there are the ones who purchased 12 days ago that will say "what about me? It's only 1 day" etc etc.

Unfortunately life is like that.

able to know ourselves fully as we are, especially the evil side of us.
This we can do only if we are not angry with our critics but will take in good
heart whatever they might have to say." - Ghandi

If you release a upgrade every year.  Why the cutoff?  I purchased Toon Santa 2006.  Rather I purchased it 10 day, 12 day, or 100 days of the cutoff.  Why the cutoff, if you release a upgrade every year? It's not Toon Santa 2005 .  I could see if I was trying to upgrade to 2007 from that.

So, if you buy the 2007 today.  Next year you won't be able to get the free upgrade (offered) if the cut off date is Dec 10th

So he upgraded it again to a 2007 release?

Seems like milking it kinda...

Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.

I registered 2006.  But, because I don't qualify for the free 2007 upgrade(by 10 days).  I can get the upgrade for $10.   I'll pass.  I don't seem like it's much of a difference, anyway.  They added props and a gold suit.  I've never seen a Santa in a Gold suit.    It's also includes the 2006 version.  2007 is cheaper than the version I have.  If I didn't have 2006.  2007 would have to include 2006, for me to make the purchase.

I'll do fine with 2006.  The upgrade does not offer enough to make me shell out the extra $10.
