Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 01 3:31 pm)
You are wanting to make a facial expression where the person is laughing?
Which figure model are you using? One of the Daz figures like: Victoria 3, Michael 3, Victoria 4 etc.
If it's one of the Daz figures you need to not only have the figure, but you also have to buy the head morph packages for the figure in order to be able to change the facial expression of the figure. If you want to change the body shape you need to have the body morph package too. The morph packages for the Daz figures are sold at Daz.
If you are working with one of the figures that comes with Poser, sorry I can't provide an answer for you because I don't use those figures so I am unfamiliar with how they work. I know that the following figures can be taken into the face room and have their face and expressions changed in there: Judy, Don, Penny, Will, James, Jessi, Apollo, G2 Figures, Miki (both1 &2). However none of the other poser figures that come with Poser can be used in the face room.
Most people just find freebie or 'to buy" expression poses to use and either use them as they are or tweak them a little to more fit their needs. However if you are going to use expression poses for a figure, make sure that they are "expression" or "xpression" or the like and not "face poses" because the first one (expression/xpression etc) will just give you a facial expression, the other (a face file) will give you a whole new face because it's a morph to change the shape of the face.
It's also important that you use an expression pose meant for the specific figure that you are using. IE: *M3 needs expression poses made just for him. V3 needs expression poses just for her and so on. *
The exception is that human body poses can be used with any human figure with a little bit of tweaking for a shoulder or an arm or maybe a leg if used on a figure they were not created for.
You can find many expression poses in the market place here and at other stores. And you might even find what you need in the free stuff area here.
Just remember to look for expressions meant to be for the figure you are working with. If you are using Victoria 3, make sure you are downloading an expression package made just for her. Victoria 1/2 or Victoria 4 expressions will not work. They have to be for Victoria 3.

@Acadia. Wow, thanks, you really cleared the poser sky for me. I have to go and buy those expressions right away. By the way, I love your gallery, excellent stuff. :)) Strata @ Miss Nancy. Thanks for the pointer. :))
