I'm actually looking for the same info for different reasons (V4 or V3 head onto SP3 body)...

(Looks around for Acadia - who probably digging up links as I type)

Try searching for FRANKENSTEINing.
There was a utility by PhilC and Kamilche(??)
Also do a search on Girl3 (Girl head/Aiko3 body, someone had to ask there)

(Still looks around for Acadia)

Yeah, I recall Stahlratte had done this, good idea.  I hadn't had any luck looking for Frankensteining on google (kept getting the great novel by Mary Shelly of course) but I'll dig in the forum search tool, maybe I'll get lucky :)

Hm... well as a "quick fix," you could always

   1. Load V4 (example figure)
   2. "Hide" every part of her body, minus her head (possily neck, as well)
   3. Load Aiko 3.0's body
   4. "Hide" A3's Head (possibly neck as well
   5. Parent V4's "Head" to A3's neck/or chest/shoulders, etc.

Hehehe... sounds like a fun activity with supper ... gimme a minute ...

I used the Phil C. python script that swaps heads on unimesh bodies to put S3`s head on Aiko`s body. I`m not sure if it was shapeshifter or morphtician, or something else. Then I saved the figure and used MorphManager to transfer the head morph channels.

... how handy, I probably own that.  Part of Poser Toolbox?
edit: ah seems to be Shapeshifter

Shapeshifter just swaps the head and that leaves you with a very nasty seam around the jawline where the neck meets the head. And no, automatic "smoothing" won't help much.

What you have to do is swap both the neck and the head so that the neck/head seam stays smooth. Then re-group the neck into an upper and lower part. Then use one of Ockhams python scripts to apply the new neckshape only to the upper part. Finally smooth the middle of the neck so that the new upper shape blends with the old lower shape. If the difference between headshapes is as big as between V3 and Aiko, it won't hurt to resculpt  the collars a bit because Aiko's default neck is a lot thinner than V3's neck.

Fast work by Ockham:

Aha!  You caught a typo.  The proper link is

http://ockhamsbungalow.com/Python/GroupToMorph2.zip

When I was setting up the new HTML, I looked and wrote instead of
copying and pasting, so it came out as Group2Morph2!

(I corrected the HTML just now .... thanks for catching.)

Very cool!  Thanks everyone for the information.

pjz99 ( ) posted Tue, 06 November 2007 at 8:27 PM

Update - that wasn't quite the correct script, I got more info from Ockham:

Yes, this script is sort of the negative image of G2M.
It's a morph-slicer, which seems to be what you need.
(I apparently didn't include this one in the HTML indexing
because it didn't seem to be popular.)

http://ockhamsbungalow.com/Python/MTbyGroup.zip

although I'm actually fairly pleased with just loading V3's morph channels and deltas into SP3's head via shapeshifter.

Not the Shapeshifter script, no, it only works for DAZ Unimesh figures.  There seem to be other ways of doing this though not much step by step detail.

That came out rather nicely, although I ended up not actually using the head swap except to get it scaled to SP3 size, and steal the morph targets out of the head and neck.  It seems like the head swapper leaves the geometry un-welded, so I took another route from what it seems other people usually do, but this works well for me.  V3 head morphs on SP3 body.  Had to manually position the eyeballs, and I did make use of the morph splitter script and smoothing as JoePublic suggested (thanks JoePublic).

SP3 is really a very nice figure once you get away from the standard head.
edit: hmm, got some big feet tho.

There is a freebie pose file floating around which gives Steph V3's head with no problems.  I have a copy, but for the life of me I can't remember where I found it and there's no readme in the zip.  :(   I used it on SP3, then copied V3's head morphs over with Morph Manager.  Worked beautifully.

Also, pjz99, there is a great freebie called "Stephanie More Petite" which is a pair of pose files, one to reduce the feet size, one to reduce the hand size.   That one's by Netherworks and is in the free section of his site.

mamba-negra ( ) posted Tue, 11 December 2007 at 10:27 PM

I really wish daz would just do this for us! I love A3s body, but only use V3's head morph, except for a few morphs I've gotten from a handful of nice character packages.

I doubt things will change with their other characters, but hopefully they will.

BastBlack ( ) posted Wed, 12 December 2007 at 8:54 PM

Hi everyone. ^^ I am working on several Frankenstien characters. They will all have smooth head to neck. bnetta, Can you take a Poser 6/7 Pmd pose file? I have V3 head -Aiko Body already ready to go. Just have to package it up and I think I have to run RTE encoder on it too. I've started on a David head - Hiro Body. And I'm almost done with V3 head on V4 body. The V3 head can take all of V3's injections. She can take V4's head and eye poses, but she does not have V4's eyes, tongue or jaw. The only thing left to do on her is fix the Head/neck seam. I was really surprised I got the V3 eyes to work so perfectly with V4! Yea! ^^ bB

I second that, bB!  A zillion thanks!!!

Right now my favorite model is a quasi-Frankenstein of DPHoadley's PosetteV3 (head) and Aiko 3 (body).

It's not the real deal since I made it by loading both models and hiding the parts of each that I didn't want to see.  Some more REAL hybrids would be AWESOME!!!

(any chance the V3 head on V4's body would be the DPHoadley remapped version?)

BastBlack ( ) posted Thu, 13 December 2007 at 11:35 AM

If you own the Remapped version, you could create your own version of the hybred that will have the remap. In fact, I recommend people use the remapped V4 that way you can avoid the dreaded Head and Neck seam. I don't think the UTC of V4's head will fix the Head and Neck texture differences between a V4 map and a V3 map. I think it only does the skin on the front of the face.
