I would like to be able to scan fabrics, pics and apply as textures better in Bryce (AND Poser). I am easily able to scan and apply rug pics to 2D squares but have trouble scanning pics and using as textures on 3D figures. The example is about a 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" 150ddp and 300 dpi scan of sweater section from catalog. The top pic is the 150, bottom is 300. The top 2 women are the texture from the 150 scan-left is in Poser, right in Bryce with texture at about 12% increase, bottom is in Bryce of 300 dpi with increase of about 12%. Above that increase, it starts to tile. Its getting closer to what I want, but not as ribbed. I think this would be hard to tile satisfactorily. I'm just not experienced in dealing with scanning pics to use as materials/textures and would like some direction as to what dpi to scan, how to resize (I only have Paintshop Pro, not PS)--OR if this is possible with this size pic. However, I've scanned fabrics with not great results-probably because I haven't hit on resizing correctly. If there is some info somewhere as to how to deal with this, please direct me (URL, book, whatever-it's NOT in the manuals). Oh, also I would like to figure out how to make the ribs run down the sleeves-I've tried a lot of things in Bryce but haven't hit the solution (including applying material individually to sleeves), but that's another problem LOL. TIA, Diane

Diane, If you want to use the textures on 3d objects (poser clothes) then you will have to use a texture map not just apply the texture in Bryce. Just like a trans map. Does this help? Spike

You can't call it work if you love it... Zen Tambour

Too late, Spike (smile). If you get into the Poser Forum you'll see I got some tips, figured it out and posted some-both my first tries with this and another scanned fabric and then a scanned photo that I took apart and applied. Thanks, Diane
