Subject: OT- Anyone else getting blasted by the storm here in New England?

I live on the beach in NH and man are we getting hammered. We have snow drifts that have just buried cars to the roof and the wind is wicked. Second nor'easter in 3 days and I think we've gotten over 2 ft of snow. Not a night fit for man nor beast!!!

All we got here (southeastern Pennsylvania) was freezing rain. Last week's storm system gave us just an inch or so of snow and freezing rain. This area is on the southern fringe of the storm system.

No snow here, but we are in a deep freeze!  It's too cold to even take out my garbage!  LOL

You guys out East have sure been getting hammered with the snow and ice storms!

I hope the weather improves or at least eases up and gives you a break.

About 13 inches, upstate NY, near Lake Ontario....windy too....blowing around....I know how you feel.  We have entered Winter unofficially.  Keep warm and pray your power stays on, lots here have lost theirs due to sleet turning into ice on the lines.  Sharen

IF you're along the lakes the nor'easter leaves and the lake effect machine is suppose to crank up.
Take care you all and if you don't have to go out tonight all the better.

I'm hoping you all have backup systems that do not rely on anybody. Where I used to live,, we had 65F degrees below zero sustained for a week on occassion. Keeping the ice out of my eyes, nose and beard was hell.

There is no sound but your own noise at that temp.

best of luck with the storm, y'all. just as an aside, what some have described as the most clever computer attack of 2007 was the "storm worm" contained in a spam e-mail with subj "230 dead as storm batters Europe".

I'm in CT...... lots of snow, about five inches............ but thats not whats sucking lol.  Its the ice, its "raining" ice...... my car is covered with a thick icing of ice..... so is the road, the walk, the snow...... everything.

We've got blizzard conditions here in Northern Ohio with a storm total snowfall predicted to be 8-12 inches. Not a huge storm by some standards (I've lived in Minnesota, Wisconsin and New Hamphire) but a pretty big one for this area.

“…..anyone here from FL?”

(SWAMP sitting his frozen Pina Colada down to type)…Yep got a cold front just moved in today.
It’s going to drop way down to 60F tonight with a high of only 78F tomorrow.

I probably should go put a T-shirt on.

We're just making progress on getting people power back in Riley County in Kansas from the Ice Storm.

PaganArtist:

If you live on the NH Seacoast I'm guessing I live about 10-20 miles south of you, on the MA side.

7 inches on Thursday night
9 more inches on Sunday.  At @ noon it changed to rain, and rained for the rest of the day into the night, leaving a 12 inch sheet of solid ice on the ground.

Is there anything worse than shoveling snow in the rain?  Why some people love this stuff escapes me.

They love it because they don't get as much of it where they live.
