To all of you here at the Poser forum,  many of you are very well versed in Poser and beautiful artistic work.  I have created an image for a charity (it is my first time to do this).  I know that I like everything in the image the way it is, but I have created several versions of the same background and would like the opinion of others.  Would anyone be willing to give me there thoughts?  Thank you for taking the time to look at these for me.  I truly appreciate it!

Please have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Sincerely, Beth

I'm not surprised that you like the image!  It's beautiful.
Background #3 is best without a doubt.   Accentuates
the 'floatiness' of the figure.

Gonna give you my opinion but before I do that, I would like to direct you to the Critique Forum, which is ideally suited to your question.  There are a lot of good people there, from various backgrounds, who will take a good, honest look at your images and make constructive comments on your work.

There's nothing wrong with posting your stuff here but, since I'm part of the Critique team, I'd be failling in my duties if I didn't tell you about it.

Anyhow, your pics...

Out of the ones posted (and maybe due to the teeny tiny mouse size of the images), the third version works the best, IMO.  There's a better overall balance of hues there, working to focus attention on the figure.  The first doesn't work for me because the background colours clash too much and the outside section with the gradient looks cheap.  The second one is almost there but the off white looks unfinished, almost an afterthought or "Oh, what do I do now?" sort of thing.

The third one is the best by far because the black areas are simple, direct and not at all fussy.  Admittedly, plain black is a cliche now but it does work in this context.

Bear in mind, my opinion and a couple of dollars will get you a coffee in Starbucks. :)

I find with 1, and to a lesser extent 2, that my eye keeps flicking from the character to the background and back again. 3 idoes not to this, and also has all of the advantages mentioned above.

Have a great Christmas

The one on the far right, #3.

"It is good to see ourselves as others see us. Try as we may, we are never
able to know ourselves fully as we are, especially the evil side of us.
This we can do only if we are not angry with our critics but will take in good
heart whatever they might have to say." - Ghandi

3 looks like a completed version while 1 and 2 look like drafts.

Well, as a completely unbiased observer (and before I'd read any of the other posts), I'd have gone for #3.

Now, having read all the following posts (and just to be bl**dy childish), I'm not going to go for any of them. So there! :-P

Cheers,
Diolma

(More seriously - Yup, #3 has it. I wish good luck to you and the charity you're supporting)

My eye was drawn straight to number three too. Just looks clearer and stands out more.
