THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Golden Tori Awards---Voting Booths Now OPEN!

Thanks to diligent work by our own David Wiles (Hamfast), we can now open the voting to all.

Start here:
http://www.rosemaryr.com/2008toriVote/2008ToriVote.htm

This takes you to the Main voting page, with links to the individual voting booths by category.
The voting is done on Hamfast's University server, in South Africa.  You will need an email address to log-in.  This is done purely for verification of the voting process, and no spam will result.

(To quote the page; "The provisions of Section 11 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (South Africa) apply to this email address and make it enforceable and binding on the recipient/addressee. The e-mail address of the sender will not be used, copied, sold, disclosed or incorporated into any database or mailing list for spamming and/or other marketing purposes. It will be used to verify the validity of the voter only."

If there are any problems you encounter with the actual voting process, David has included a contact email on that page.

Thanks you all for your participation!

As an addendum:  the IP addresses of the emails are recorded, so phony email addies will be caught!  We will be checking "The validity of the voter"!

On the other hand, for security sake, once the voting is completed, at the end of December,...all information will be wiped off of the server, so no worries about email spamming.

Attached Link: Golden Tori 2008 Nominees

*I have heard of some complaints/suggestions about the inability to see the candidates in each category BEFORE going to vote. A very legitimate issue which I have attempted to address as best as I can!*

I have set up a page where all the nominees for all the categories in the Golden Tori 2008 Awards are now displayed.

Links to the artist's page, a small thumbnail of the image/s AND a link directly to the voting page are all provided!

This will give you an opportunity to check out the "candidates" first before entering the voting booth. The page is somewhat simplistic and might take a minute or two to load for dialup users, but it serves the purpose well enough for now:

Go to:

http://hamfast.bryce-alive.net/gt/all.html

Best of luck to all the nominees!

With the current loss of the Bryce_Alive network sites (which include both mine and Hamfast's sites), the above links for the Starting Page of the Voting, and the Preview Page are not currently available.
Here are the direct links to the voting booths.
Best bet is to right-click on the link, and open a 'new window', as navigation between the pages is currently lost.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

I'm getting a problem with the site's security certificate. Says it's not valid. here's a clipping of what IE7 reports:

Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server.
We recommend that you close this webpage and do not continue to this website.

Accept the security certificate. (do the "not recommended" thing) The voting site is on a server that runs secure and confidential surveys and tests for the university - hence the certificate. I checked with the SYSADM and he assures me that it is 100% A-OK.

There is a **backup site** for this page at this [location](http://rga.sun.ac.za/gerga/gt/all.html) should the Bryce-Alive network still be down. A tad slower than the Bryce-Alive network, but still useable.

Five days left to vote!  Voting closes Monday night!
Get your choices made, or be stuck with what others have chosen!

Correction: The Awards Party in on the 19th, not the 20th.

I've got a bad cold just now and my brain is slightly mushy as a result...sorry!
