Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 21 6:06 am)
ohhh!!.... i like this one!! .....why can't they delete the other one.
i've been tidying my runtime recently, but have just been going into my runtime folder and moving stuff about and deleting what i know i will never use and stuff, it works well this way as you can make sure everything is where you want it to be, but it does take a while.......actually it takes forever!!!
but now i have V4 folders, A3 folders and so on, clothes in one props in another etc..., all nice and tidy, so instead of coming out of a folder nowadays and then having to scroll...scroll....scroll...scroll....scroll....scroll (are you getting the drift yet!!?) it is all alot quicker now.
remember to make a backup of your tidy runtime when your done and then hopefully you'll never have to do it again.
CorrectReference Pro by Hogsoft can do this.
The pen is mightier than the sword. But if you literally want to have some impact, use a typewriter
If the problem proves too time consuming and extreme, it may be quicker to delete & re-install?
Then you can set up your current content in external Runtimes to get it running quicker & cleaner?
I always keep my Poser 'internal' Runtime as small as possible.
I have external runtimes for V4 & Miki2
Just a bit of lateral thinking....

yeah i think thats what i will end up doing if CorrectReference doesn't do what I need.
I started a new runtime last night.. after about 10mins i realized it was going to take me -forever-.
but Poser loads slow, and even though i use Advanced Library, I still have a crapload to sift through to get what I want!
Thanks for that suggestion, svdl! Going to check it out ;)
I have the same problem. Over the years, I've been hoarding a lot of freestuff in my runtime folder and its taking a lot out of my hard drive space. Now, I want to remove a lot of these files but removing the cr2 files doesnt remove obj and textures associated with them. And I really dont want to manually go and find and delete these files since it would take forever and I might accidentally remove a file which I dont want to remove. Is there a script or utility that can automate the whole thing?
I don't know of such a utility but I use a timesaver with daz3d.
If you added an uninstaller when the daz file was installed you simply go to (On a PC) start>all programs>DAZ productions>Installed Content then select the one you want uninstalled.
If you didn't include the uninstaller then reinstall to the same directory only this time add the uninstaller. You can now uninstall as described above.

So with the evolution of V4, and the absence of any desire to use older V3/SP etc models, my runtime is about 40gb too large. Is there a utility that will allow me to browse my runtime and when i remove a V3 character, it removes the linked texture folders/morph delta files? or another example, if i delete a clothing figure set, it removes all the OBJs associated with it ?
