Subject: problem with V4's 'community' morph channels...

Hi all - Sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere, but I haven't managed to find the appropriate thread... I've been experiencing problems loading non-daz injection morphs into victoria 4.1 (poser 7) - basically, if I load a morph package (eg the NGM morphs) and then try to load additional morphs, some or all of the previous set are replaced by the new ones (ie the names vanish from the 'community' morph list and any morphed area of the figure that depends on them reverts to it's pre-morphed state).

Anyway, I was just wondering if I'm doing something the wrong way or if there are only a small number of community morph channels (apparently 9) available? If this is the case, is there a way of increasing the number? I'd really appreciate any thoughts about this :)

Many thanks in advance!

There are mor than 9 channels, but the assignment isn't dynamic - the maker of the morph picks a channel, and if two people pick the same channel you'll get a conflict. It should be a fairly simple matter to look in the files and find the references to the channel name, then change one set to use a different channel (I'd suggest leaving the NGM ones where they are as I suspect they have poses or ERC to set their values, which could be fiddly, while character morphs probably need only one change and have no complex interaction).

Your not dioing anything wrong, this hust means that the two sets of INJs are using the same channels.

The one way to solve this is to edit one set of files to change the channel numbers being used (not really difficult, just exacting and potentially time consuming).

For V4.1, it is possible to create custom channels for INJ morphs, but so far only the expansions sold at DAZ have used this capability.

thanks for the info! I'm afraid that I'm not that knowledgeable in terms of file editing, would I do something like: 1/ open the inj pose file in a text editor 2/ find the injection channels and re-number them 3/ save with the old file extension? Many thanks again for your help :)

That's about all there is to it, though you should always work on copies or otherwise make backups.
The V4 NGM only has a few files you need to alter (4 INJ/REM files which must be changed and 12 pose files which you only need to change if you use them).

I have a Python script that can help with this issue.

Click on the Python section and scroll down to the last one.

hey adp - many thanks, this looks like it'll be amazingly helpful! :) (in fact, looks like there are a lot of useful things on your site - thanks for the link :) )

Hi! I always try to use the last 10 morph channels of the figure, say  PBMCC_20 to 30 or PBMCC_30 to 40 to avoid possible conflicts but as many ones here have said before it seems that the other product is using those channels also so the python of adp seems to be the easiest solution.

@adp: that Poser in your browser seems very handy, nice work!

The python does sound perfect ...unfortunately, it doesn't seem to want to run on my pc! (xp pro) I've pm'd adp, so hopefully there's a way of getting it to work...
