Subject: please help me choose a hair

I am planning on doing a realistic human render and would like to have a hairstyle similar to this one here:
http://pierrot.jp/title/saiyuki_movie/characters/lirin.html

The hair should have a thick and full fringe of bangs, tendrils down both sides of the face, and a low-tied ponytail with some wave in it.

I thought perhaps the Legend Hair by Hmann might work.

But I'd like to hear from others if there are other hair items which might also have similar effect.

Most of the ones with ponytails are tied high up on the head, or have a thin or no fringe, or the fringe is parted and thin.  Tendrils by the side of the face are hard to find too.

Someone has suggested Mitsui hair to me as well.

The Brooke hait ponytail is tied too high up on the head for the look I'm seeking.

Toyo hair seems not to be fluffy enough in the fringe.  But I've got that in my hair arsenal, hehe.

Unless, of course,  I tried cobbling together several hair items onto the figre's head.

How about this one? Lots of options with all those areas of the hair you want. :)

Interesting - Total updo is a flexible item, had not looked at it before.  The ponytail still tied too high up at back for my purpose, though.

Yea, I saw that, but wasn't sure if the ponytail could be lowered or not. I'll keep poking around, tons of hair items to go thru ;)

Hey thanks so much - sorry to set you off on a hunt !  I've been looking myself.

I have the Total Updo and the ponytail loads as a seperate prop so lowering would, theoretically not be a problem.  IIRC every hair piece is a seperate prop (yes they are all .pp2 format) so you can mix and match and move to suit your need.

have you had a look at  "Cuffed Tail" at Daz. i think it may give you more of "a realistic human render " you are looking for

Yes, have considered Cuffed Tail, which I already have.  The fringe isn't thick and fluffy enough, though.

I am not ruling out the possibility of cobbling two or even three hair pieces together into one, if all else fails.

Valerian, - thanks for the info about Total Updo.  In that case, I could theoretically try adjusting the seperate parts of Victoria's Changing Ponytail, which I have, since the individual parts also load separately.  I am only a little worried the ponytail and fringe parts may not parent well or I may use the wrong part to parent to etc etc, but I suppose I should try that.

I usually just parent everything to the head and move them around from there.

This is my 3-piece cobbled-together hairstyle.

I used the Cuffed Tail, Manga Hair and Katsuro Extension.

I had to adjust the colour of the Katsuro extension using Poser 7's Material Room.

Notes:
I will need to switch off texture filtering on the Cuffed Tail.
