I think the photography of Valerie is super, so I asked her if I could make a movie of her work and post it on YouTube. She said yes and here is the result:

Thank you very much.  A beautiful tribute to Valerie Ducom

I do have 2 very minor points ...

In the notes for this YouTube submission, did you consider specifying
the link to her renderosity gallery?

Another minor point is that the playback stops at 3:02 ... and that's in
both Netscape 7.2 and also Internet Exploiter 6.

Just thought you would like to know.

Really very good, I like the music, just a shame it finishes before the slide show does.

Fellow RR member Randy Stevens made me a slide show some years back. I still think it is pretty good. It is on YouYube, and on the HOME page of my website, under the news section. I'd check out Valou's video, but for some reason my browser crashes whenever I try and visit it these days. ~Kort

Thanks John for this incredible work in this video.

MGD : I don't see necesary to put the gallery links here, because these picture are mine and yes, John asked me before to make this work.

TwoPynts : Firefox is good 😄 !

I use Safari and Firefox, and yes, Firefox works. :)

The 3:02 stop area in the video seems to be a problem on YouTube. When I upload videos to them, I have the music looped so that it won't stop until the end. When YouTube creates their file, they consistently unloop the music. I don't know why.

MGD ( ) posted Wed, 09 January 2008 at 4:57 PM

Hmmmmmmm ... is the 3:02 stop at the same place the music would have
stopped if you had not set it to loop in the video?

You could get the music to loop if you created a music file that was longer
than the video -- you could do that by adding the music track "to itself" ...
if necessafry, 3 times.

Great presentation. I rated it 5 stars and faved it (and gave Kort and Val a thumbs up). Wonderful work Campbell and Ducom. 👍

Question the question. Answer the question. Question the answer...

I wish I knew what I was gonna say :oP

John, I really would like to know the reference for the music... this voice is fantastic and just perfect with Valou's picture !

j_campbell ( ) posted Thu, 10 January 2008 at 9:28 AM

The music is "Cherubin" from an album of various artists called. La Grande Passione. I wish I knew more about it, but it was a sound file that was part of a gift from my son.

j_campbell ( ) posted Thu, 10 January 2008 at 9:58 AM

Well I found a way to solve the sound problem. That's the good news, the bad news is that if I do it, I will disconnect any links that have been set to the video. So for now I will leave it alone. It seems that when you upload a video with looped sound to YouTube and they do their processing to convert it to an flv format; their automated program doesn't loop it. If I open my file and separate the audio and video files and reprocess it as an mp4 and not a mov file then when I upload it their processing works fine. It is kind of a pain in the neck, but it does work.

MGD ( ) posted Thu, 10 January 2008 at 1:24 PM

Just curious ... does that (i.e. would that) also solve the 'stop' at 3:02?

j_campbell ( ) posted Thu, 10 January 2008 at 2:42 PM

I can't answer that because it hasn't stopped for me at 3:02, other than the music stopping. Sometimes these things have to do with your browser memory cache needing to be cleared. I don't have a windows machine to try it on, I use a MAC with safari as the browser.

MGD ( ) posted Thu, 10 January 2008 at 5:04 PM

I noticed that j_campbell responded to my questions by saying,

hasn't stopped for me at 3:02, other than the music stopping.

Hmmm ... the audio track is 3:02, ... right?

Sometimes these things have to do with your browser memory cache
needing to be cleared.

Maybe sometimes ... but not this time.

I cleared the cache and the playback still stopped at 3:02

Earlier today, you said,

I found a way to solve the sound problem. ...  If I open my file and
separate the audio and video files and reprocess it as an mp4 and
not a mov file then when I upload it their processing works fine.

Just a suggestion, but what if you did that additional processing and
uploaded the result as a new video to YouTube.  By doing that you
would know if the video stop at 3:02 was also fixed.  This presumes
that you could also delete that (possibly) unwanted/unnecessary video
from YouTube.

I loved it an thank you very much for making the show for Valou. And Valerie, thanks to you for the fine images, many of which are faimilar to us here and a few I must have missed along the way.  A fine tribute and gentlemans touch on honor to a deserving lady..my feeling on it.

When I remember Valou, little and younger with the small fingers on her dad'camera and now I see this video, it is something indescribable. Thank you j_campbell and Valou for this splendid video collaboration!

In 2 earlier messages I noticed that both GiMi53 and j_campbell were
interested in the background music ...

GiMi53 asked,

I really would like to know the reference for the music

... and j_campbell responded by saying,

The music is "Cherubin" from an album of various artists called.
"La Grande Passione". I wish I knew more about it

I am happy to supply what I have found ...

There are 5 copies of "La Grande Passione" available on amazon.com

La Grande Passione ~ Arias ~ Starbucks [CD] [COMPILATION]

BTW, while searching, I also found La Grande Passione, Volume II
-- but that's not the same CD compilation.

That is a compilation of beautiful and familiar opera arias.  The playlist
reads like a who's who of romantic opera.

The track in question, "11. Massenet's Cherubin, Dawn Upshaw" is
from and opera written by Jules-Émile-Frédéric Massenet
... youi could also read  Jules Massenet on Wikipedia

The Stanford site gave this non-working link for the libretto,
http://www.intac.com/~rfrone/massenet/operas/17Cherubin/17-libretto.htm

I used The Internet Archive to access the Chérubin Libretto

Wonderful selection of music and a perfect match to the photography of
Valerie Ducom.

Many thanks to j_campbell for this video.

BTW, you should try to get the whole CD from your son.

I agree with you Martin maybe Val didn't understand but it would have been nice to drop the Rendo name for a plug.

Good work on the Vid guys and I must thank you very much for when I went in there was a recent vid of one of my favourite woman rockers Joan Jett singing one of my favourite classic rock songs "Crimson and Clover". Joan hasn't changed much at all except maybe she's got even better looking and she still plays and sings great..

The 1968 original by Tommy James and the Shondells is posted there as well.

Lol
Rock On!

taupes? :-))

Val.
