Attached Link: Climbing During Sunset

The site emails you an image per day and the chance to have your image posted as the picture of the day.  I opened up the email today and was amazed at today's choice... check it out!

You can see where the climber and rock has been added the the sunset photo.  The climber is on his knees against the rock.  LOL.  A really super photo and brilliant climber.

If you have a look at his webpage, the shot is his entry screen backdrop - it is clearer there... some cool shots in his gallery too... which makes me think - maybe we should do the next UK meet and have Carl (rockstrider) as our model! hehe 😄

Once in a while I look around,
I see a sound
and try to write it down
Sometimes they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound
The Sun comes up again

Now Rich, you know Carl is my model :tongue1: and now that I've had my first (failed) attempt at rockclimbing myselft, I'm hoping to be able to get some decent shots of him eventually, ones where I'm not just stood at the bottom looking up!!
It may be a while before I could take a shot like this one though - brilliant photography, excellent light and mood capture and a fantastically composed shot too!
Thanks for sharing.

PS - perhaps we can start arranging a next UK meet up soon though??

This pic was taken on the Greek island of Kalymnos (the island in the background is Talindos) - I was there on a climbing trip just over two years ago. The shot looks like it was taken from the back of the Grande Grotta cave and I think the route is D.N.A, or one of routes adjacent to it. It really looks like this - not a photo merge, and because of the cave formation it's possible to take this kind of shot without having to climb yourself and suspend from the rope.

Great share Rich!!

What is more amazing.. the climber?.. or the climber that hauls around photo gear to take these pictures ;)
