I am working on a free texture for the MFD, & when rendering I notice I am getting some ghosting of the dress mesh not included in the transmap.

Just wondering how I stop this?

I have the transparency &transparency edge set to 1, & falloff set to 0.6.

Any help would be appreciated.

CHange the falloff to 0. Also make sure that if you are using reflections or any other effect of the sort, it's properly masked using the transmap.

Thanks.

What do you mean by

I am using the reflection node, how do I "mask it" using the transmap?

Plug the transmap into the value.

I think you need to create another 2D image node using that transmap, and stick it between your reflection node and the main Poser node.  Also, specularity can cause ghosting.

Sorry about the cross-post :)

John: no need to create a second image node, she can just run the link from the one she's got there right now.

Also make sure that the blacks in your transmap (and specularity map, as it is now) are truly black. Saving as PNG can help; sometimes JPG encoded files don't go down to 0,0,0 in the blacks even though that's what you used in your painting program.

Ok thanks for this, I will try it in the morning, have to hang up poser & go to bed.

Thanks again for the help.
